hey so remember that copy paste about npc happiness i mentioned during stream? now that this isn't a stream chat this seems like a good place to put it npc happiness does two things 1: happy npcs will give a discount on anything bought from them and buy items from you for a higher price unhappy npcs will do the opposite and charge more for their wares and buy items from you for a lower price 2: happy npcs will sell a "pylon", with a different one depending on the biome they're living in when at least two pylons of different biomes are placed and at least two npcs are living nearby (these npcs do not need to be happy) you can teleport between pylons while near one by opening the map and clicking on the icon of one this allows you to create a network of towns across most of the world to make travel much easier npc happiness has three factors; how many npcs are living nearby, which npcs are living nearby, and what biome the npc is living in npcs will gain a bonus if there are no more than two npcs living within 25 blocks, and no more than three within 120 blocks they will gain a penalty if either of these numbers are exceeded npcs will gain a bonus if a liked npc is living within 25 blocks, with a larger bonus for a loved npc they will gain a penalty for a disliked npc and a larger one for a hated one biomes use the same liked/loved bonus and disliked/hated penalty as npc neighbors the block distances above refer to specifically the block that is the npcs "home block" when you open the housing menu (the house button on the right side of your screen in the inventory) you will see a flag in every npcs house with their face on it hanging from the ceiling, with the block it is attached to being the home block this information should more than suffice for a casual playthrough, and thus concludes the lecture, you are now dismissed
