All class 185 trains 🚊 have a toilet 🚽 🚻 , standard class accommodation only, no smoking 🚭 accommodation is because it’s prohibited 🚫, luggage 🧳 rack, comfortable seats 💺 💺 💺 , have tables, electric ⚡️ doors 🚪, rectangle windows 🪟, bins 🗑️ provided and are second generation DMU - Diesel ⛽️ Multiple Unit trains 🚊 is operated by NT - Northern that runs daily and public holidays except Christmas 🎄🤶 🎅 🧑‍🎄 Day and Boxing Day. Great trains though, perfect for the job they’re intended to do (long distance Manchester to the Lake District/York to Blackpool services where comfort is paramount), they have awful seats and horrible ride quality, but just be grateful, you expect too much 🙄

Loved the train when I was wee - back in maybe 1976/77, long time ago. Back then there was a Dr Who exhibition in Blackpool that we loved too. Happy holiday memories. Thanks for posting the video.

Dreadful things

There's good bounce & there's bad. The old cravens dmu rattling along mid-Wales, great. A 317 bombing along Birmingham - Euston would bounce so hard you could feel the suspension bottoming out & all the seat cushions would detach & fly all round the carriage.

Blackpool is a really nice place! I love eating doughnuts there at the beach. But a couple of months when I was there with my friend for the day we both saw something awful happen to somebody. And it is always in my head whenever I visit Blackpool now!

Me and my friend went on one of these in 2019 from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield, I think it was, we had never been on a class 142 pacer before so we wanted to see how bad it really was, we quite liked them from the outside, but the ride was just absolutely horrible, my friend actually felt quite ill after the ride

New trains as class 195 does not like a pacer train class 142 very bumpy.

I miss these trains. Only because we used to get 4 carriages on my local line made up of 2 142s but now we only get 1 150. A lot more crowded now!

The underframes on these units are solid. They were made in what once was Great Britain, and not this lowly 'UK' definition!

Quite obvious, but it's a lot worse than the pacer, these trains bounce like crazy. Worst replacement for the pacers yet.
