So, lot to say and unpack, but I don’t want to get overly detailed because that’s a bit of a waste of time. Overall, I disagree with your opinion. That’s the bottom line. However, I’m not gonna sit here and bash your opinion just because you don’t share my sentiments on the game, you have a right to having specific wants from the Sonic franchise, popular or unpopular. You are just as free to like what you want to like as I am. I like the game, I’ve enjoyed playing it and continue to go back because there are things I have lots of fun with. But I’m not gonna sit here and pretend it’s a perfect game, it’s got a LOT of flaws that need ironing out (and I want to see this gameplay style again, I had fun with it) in their next game with this style. Some of my flaws include ALL of Cyber Space, the levels sucked and made me want to play better true boost era games, Generations and Unleashed especially. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend Frontiers is better than those games, it’s not, and that’s almost a fact at this point (even if it never will be because of subjectivity). Another flaw is of course the terrible pop-in issue that never got addressed. It makes some platforming challenges harder than the design itself allows it to be, because there’s nothing there until it’s too late. However, despite all of it, I found the Open Zone exploration to be genuine fun, and the challenges were bite sized and unobtrusive. I liked it, I had fun with it all. Especially Super Sonic of course. I enjoyed more of the game than I expected, and I enjoyed more of it on average than I ever had issues. My issues were negligible and rarely thought about, especially because I have to freedom to skip some of it entirely after the tutorial, making the game BETTER in my opinion for that being an option. I’m not complaining about things I find mostly nitpicky, especially knowing Sonic simply hasn’t been good at all since 2011 for the main series. I want a step in the right direction, and that’s what I got. I’d honestly be more terrified if the game was downright fantastic, because of SEGA’s bad habits built from that when Sonic gets top line reviews. The game was good in my opinion. The game was bad in yours. I disagree with you. But I also want you to know that I respect it regardless and I heard what you had to say. Critique is valid and valuable. I personally hope to see Sonic continue with this gameplay style in a more refined game and much more varied combat.

@ yes I’m a fan. And? People can dislike the game. I’m gonna disagree, but it’s not my place to gatekeep or even try and indoctrinate people into my personal mindset about the game. I like it, he doesn’t. I still respectfully watched his critique because he had something to say, and I wanted to understand his point of view. Even if I don’t agree because it’s very subjective (as all of this SHOULD be, enjoyment and most parts of quality should be subjective to each individual), I can respect that his reasoning is his to have. He made his points, I disagreed, but I respect his reasons and I move on. I’m not really crying over his opinion, it affects me in no way at all. I’m just contributing to the conversation.

the jurrasic world trilogy reminds me a lot of the Resident evil movies...such as 1. High dose of CGI 2.Plot that makes no sense 3.Evil company 4.Action deluxe 5. Human Cloning, 6.Creatures as Background items rather then the big highlight 7.Bad guy repeating the same mistakes that previus bad guys did. 8.Repeat use of former plots or events from previus movies. 9.At the end of each Re movie, they build up to something big for the next movie, which never happens when the next movie starts.

I just had an idea, A movie that captures the wonders of seeing something extinct for the very first time, a movie that focuses on other parts of history we dont have as mich interest in such as the mega fauna of our current ice age with giqnt creatures such as the megatherium,(giant sloth, unrelated to modern sloth) Mammoths while well known have never before been seen with lifelike hair on the silver screen roaming the artics they once survived in. Dire wolfs...ok this is just personal bias but 1.5x3 meter wolves are just cool, wolves are cool normally. I love dire bears. But we could also shed more light on things like paraceriun, prehistoric rhinoceros, giant buffalos...okay now we are just back to giant animals again 😂 But this would also be co piloted with lovable human characters with passion and love for paleotology and deep knowledge of the modern theories regarding thier fields of expertise. We dont need some grandiose plot or anything, it could just be a storm destroying many systems panicking and starving many of the animals whoch would be why they are a threat. Theyre just as scared and lost as we are when things go wrong... Also id wanna taste a mammoth meatball, id that too much to ask for 😂

38:12 i am not allowed to watch jurrassic world movies with my friends anymore because i was constantly complaining about how scientifically innaccurate the giganotosaurus was and how the therizino didnt behave like a therizino in the end section, those things are the tickle chicken spawn of lucifer himself, aggression incarnate. Also why does the pyroraptors swim like they are mini spinosaurus? They may have webbed feet but that would only make them worse runners, also they lived in warm climates, if you want an arctic murder chicken then use the Yuttaranus and Carnotaurus that have historically lived in cold places Or better yet, prehistoric mega fauna from the ice age or even earlier. Thatd give plenty reason for the arctic! Phew...you see why im not allowed to watch bad jurassic movies anymore now right 😅

Adventure is a terrible translation of his 2d gameplay. Almost none of the gameplay aspects carry over outside slope jumps and some physics. Which isnt a bad thing. I love adventure style gameplay. But its not even close to capturing the 2d gameplay and i always wonder why people feel that way. Like on a fundamental level its all wrong. Again, the games are still very good and i love them theres nothing wrong with not replicatig the 2d gameplay. Pariah does a great video breaking this down kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpbNpYiZmNShndU&ab_channel=Pariah695. Im glad youve also broken this down pretty well, you get it this is great analysis. That being said i do like a lot of 3d sonic games. I love the boost games, at least the first two, bc boosting is a different kind of keeping your speed and its super fun. Tho i wish that gameplay style would go away Generations did the most it could possibly do i feel. Shadow, while good, does nothing new we need to move on. Continue and refin the open zone, add some physics based terrain, incoirpate level design into the terrian naturally, not floating things in the sky

Sonic was always about going fast and feeling cool. Building momentum rolling down slopes and etc is a way of achieving that, but it's not like the newer games are fully automated either. I agree we could try a more close to classic approach, but Frontiers and Shadow gens are so much fun in a way the classic games couldn't.

I liked this video a lot, it goes deep in details about many problems I'm having in my playthrough. However, I really don't like that comparisons people make everytime a new game like this just do make the modern Sonic games look bad. Yeah, Penny's big breakway is a really fun experience, but it doesn't reach the same highs as Frontiers. Both have their problems, but you probably won't go falling through the floor in Frontiers, unless maybe if you play on Switch.

I think the homing attack in adventure sending you directly up and halting your momentum isn’t toooooo much of a bad thing. It kind of lets you breathe for a split sec while you decide where you want to go, and you can do another homing attack at any point as you’re going upwards. But I do see what you’re saying in that for a brief moment you literally are not moving laterally at all. Complete momentum stop.

A heavy reliance on the multiverse, a villain who is totes the baddest because unexplained reasons, and we need the hero to die because sadness is profound or some shite. This comment may prove a little controversial, but I’ve always found the drop dash introduced in mania to basically be classic sonics boost. Whenever I play the games with the drop dash available, all I really find myself doing is spamming the drop dash over and over again for instant speed, mainly because there’s no consequences for pulling it off. At this point, classic sonic might be as stagnated as modern sonic.

I think the fact they made JP3 without a script shows how bankrupt the series is. Terminator, Alien, Predator... Jurassic... were never good franchises. Ever. All of them had one good movie, maybe two at most. After that, they were all cash-grabs. That's right, Is said it. Terminator and Aliens, and Predator, and Jurassic were never any good. Each of those franchises have terrible games, comics, expanded universes and sequels... than actually decent movies. Same with Pirates Of The Caribbean, Romero's Dead movies, Blair Witch... and predicting the futre here, the MCU as well. More bad than good... Terminator and Aliens, and Predator, and Jurassic plus all the others I mentioned, were *never* any good. Also: 24:25 Owen stops that guy from opening fire, so the dinosaur can do it's thing in act 3. I mean, what the actual f*ck.

It's really satisfying seeing people disliking Mike Pollock, Eggman's English voice actor. Like he's a douchebag, has been for years, and based on how many shitty projects he's been involved in [Ratatoing 💀] it's clear he has no standards. And then him voicing his stupid evil political opinions on Twitter was finally what made people realize he's probably not a very good person. Still though, I do think he does a good Eggman, there's a reason he was kept on when the rest of the 4Kids cast was dumped for Free Riders and Colors. Not as much energy as the original Japanese voice actor, Chikao Otsuka, and his successor, Kotaro Nakamura, but still good. Karen Strassman as Rouge tho, she gotta go lol. I don't care about her stupid wrong political opinions either, but she sucks as Rouge. Even her few good line reads still don't hold a candle to Lani Minella or even chain-smoker-sounding Kathleen Delaney.

In a recent RebelTaxi video, Pan Pizza describes roguelikes as an evolution of the arcade style formula, with randomization being the factor that makes them worth the higher price compared to a few quarters or a few dollars in the case of a home release. And this SOUNDS fantastic, it opened my eyes to the potential of a genre I previously ignored... but when you compared it to "gambling with your time", I instantly lost what interest had been gained from RT's video and fell into full-on dislike of roguelikes as a concept. I very recently, FULLY realized that, yeah, I WILL die. No matter what, be it tomorrow or in 60 years, my body is made of physical matter that will succumb to entropy, I do not have infinite time. To waste the time I have on something so trivial as a hit of dopamine when I finally finish a version of a randomly generated game after 20 hours of failed attempts is laughable and ridiculous. TL;DR thanks for keeping me from throwing away hundreds of hours of my life on experiences with such low value. It's just nowhere near worth it.

Like... yeah that's... how 99% of video games ever released work. Just because SEGA and Sumo didn't endlessly add shit to the game doesn't mean it's a bad game, no one thinks Sonic Racing Transformed or Mario Kart 7 sucked or "is dead" just because they were actually released in a finished state. Everyone comparing this to Crash Team Racing is real fuckin quiet now that that game has received SO many updates and changes that it was ruined with so many microtransactions and shit. 3:30:10 I don’t make videos so I wouldn’t know but, why do nothing in your free time but make the video? Take your time and make a video that you feel satisfied with. Most people won’t care how much time it takes of the video to come out.
@telekinesticmanАй бұрын
I was slightly exaggerating, but it's more of a way to get it over and done with sooner rather than later. I by no means rush my videos out, I usually spend weeks on the script part alone, but they place a huge burden on me during that time. All I think about in every moment is getting that video finished and released, and every moment I'm not working on it feels like a waste. I'll still take some spare time to do other things, but the sooner I finish the video, the sooner I can go back to doing my own things *all the time*, instead of just *sometimes* in-between writing, recording and editing. Basically, unlike a typical job, when I finish my video, I actually get time to *not* work for a while, rather than just being given more work. It would be like if finishing your work early meant you actually got to go home early, instead of your boss just giving you more work to do for the rest of the day until 5pm, if that makes sense. I'm not saying it's a super healthy work ethic, but that's why I don't do videos most of the time anyway. I don't like coming home from work to do *more work*, even if it's something I mostly enjoy. I am supremely against crunch. But even when I spend all my free time on weeknights and weekends working on a video, they still end up taking weeks or months to finish anyway, which is why I end up avoiding doing much else. The sooner it's done, the sooner I go back to normal. Hope that makes a bit of sense, sorry for the giant reply.

Do you REALLY have to tell the people to stop making new JP/JW movies?
@pizzasteak4566Ай бұрын
So I have question. There are naturally slower paths, slow platforming sections, and the spindash (a move which requires you to nearly completely stop to use it). in the classic games. And these things would naturally break the flow of the game as at the very least they require you to slow down. So would you say you like these sections
@snakey88828 күн бұрын
The thing is, with sufficient knowledge and skill, you can maintain a good amount of your speed during the more demanding sections, while avoiding the slow ones. Those sections are necessary for speed to be representative of player's mastery of the game.
@pizzasteak456627 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the reply. But that brings up a new issue: only people that are good at the games get to have fun. A lot of the obstacles that break up are only that are simply “do you remember if a thing was here” or require extremely high skill in order to keep up speed. Not to mention your punishment is a complete loss of speed. Not to mention the slower parts aren’t just slower because they are long sections, they are slower because they force the average player to go slower with platform or obstacles that deemphasized speed. I’m not denying that you can go fast in these game. but how can say these game are good when the “good part” is only available to like 20% of its players.
@snakey88827 күн бұрын
@@pizzasteak4566 There are some faulty assumptions being made here. First off, just because the game does not enforce a particular speed or flow, does not mean it isn't fun. Even the so called "slower parts" can be, and usually are, engaging, interesting and satisfying to navigate, even if you are not going fast. The fact that as your skill improves, and you are able to make the "slow parts" into fast parts, enforces the idea of speed as something you earn, creating an incentive to improve and increasing the replay value. As such, the "good part" is available to all its players. Not only are the "slow parts" fun and interesting to navigate, a slow playstyle is not only a valid alternative, but a rewarding one as well because there is a lot to explore and find. If the game enforced a certain speed or flow, it would be worse. Not only would it limit player freedom and agency, it would cheapen the whole concept of speed, and reduce it to more spectacle than substance as is the case of most modern Sonic games (1999 - today).
@pizzasteak456627 күн бұрын
@@snakey888yeah I don’t disagree with that. I can also enjoy the more slower paced sections in Sonic games. I’m simply trying to understand why classic sonic gets a pass while certain modern games don’t. For example, the homing attack. In nearly every instance that I can think of where the homing attack is used, you don’t need the homing attack to proceed. What also adds confusion is how the crux of the argument is about how sonic is about flow when evidently it is not. Also while there are instances of being able to make the slow parts something I would consider fast, there are also many instances where simply you can’t achieve that without putting an unreasonable amount of time in to these levels
@snakey88827 күн бұрын
@@pizzasteak4566 To be fair, the good Sonic games have quite a nice flow to them for a good portion of the levels, especially if one is proficient at the game. There are several reasons why modern Sonic games don't get a pass, while classic games do are, one of them is that speed is earned. You cannot just press a button that grants you full speed. Another is physics and automation, whereas the classic Sonic games have great physics and sense of momentum, modern Sonic have bunch of automation in forms of scripts, dash pads etc that override your momentum very often, while the physics themselves are usually wonky and inert a lot of times.
