Years i search for answers and insights about WW II and the holocaust. Fascinating that the most brilliant historians, interpret the past in a very similar way , of course Victor Davis Hanson's way to make it accessible is just remarkable. Can listen to him all day!

How much of America’s current mess is a result of the education system running away from recognizing that God created people in His own image?

27:00 so the president takes years to “steer” the US population into a war and draft, and I should be awed that our grandparents were bought it all up as legitimate.

Victor is a remarkable (and atavistic) example of a vastly better time, when intellectuals welcomed debate and weren't afraid to defend their positions. We need desperately to return to the ethos he embodies. The sorry state of American academia is a genuine threat to our future freedom and prosperity.

Men like Ridgeway, Patton and Scipio fell victim to the dark forces of envy and resentment. We see today those same dark forces that want to promote mediocrity in order to secure themselves and maintain control over the masses by eliminating and/or humiliating the greatest of us. Am I paranoid? Yes, but I think I'm right.

So many of these "debunkings" of Cooper end up just saying the same stuff as Cooper but with a different interpretation. Cooper says Churchill was a warmonger, VDH says he wanted peace through strength. Cooper says GB engaged in desperate terrorist-like bombings that were never going to have an effect in order to keep the war going until the US could get there, VDH says the bombings were ineffectual and the US said as much when they got there in March. So I'm just curious what are the "facts" that Cooper got wrong? It seems to me he was exactly right in the main point which is that this is a religious narrative for a lot of people and when you signal against the religious narrative, people get irrational and defensive.

In what way were the US with no experience of the war at that point in any position to comment on the effectiveness of the bombing campaign?
