Listening to this I come to realize just how much so many composers misunderstand when trying to "remaster" or "remix" this song. So many people seem to have a misunderstanding of more instruments = better and a lack of understanding on how to enhance/set up big moments in a song. They lack the understanding of *what* those bug moments are aswell. The transitions from one section the next are important and need time to breath while the longer sections could do with slight backing to add a chaotic frantic feel to it, though never enough to drown out the gutteral feeling of those notes. In Truth I'd love to see someone go about remixing this to give it the truly big feel the DS sadly couldn't give it entirely (it still did a wonderful job, don't get me wrong. They did miracles with what little they had). A fullness that almost echoes epicness of a game like Monster Hunter with their broader orchestras, though keeping the pokemon touch of having individual instruments burst through on their own in a way that almost feels like the legend themselves guiding the song boisterously

Christmas Morning. I had just been given a pair of headphones. I had owned MarioKart DS for about 2 months, but never really played with sound on so as to not annoy my parents. When I did play with the sound on, it was very low and the speakers weren't that good. Plugging in those headphones and hearing this will always be with me. Hearing that bass properly for the first time, and the rumble of the engines was just AMAZING 🤩. Shame those headphones just broke. I miss you pal 😥
