I think it´s mistake from crew, that they continued in landing at Hamburg Airport... strong sidewind, out of the center line and almost the wingstrike. At this moment, they were supposed to do Go Around without that dangerous approach

Very vood boys

Worked on Buffs with the crosswind crab landing gears. System was never adopted in any commercial acft I am aware of. Always wondered why after seeing crosswinds acft experience? You change a lot of landing gears with it and cost could be a factor.

Pilots are trained that if something isn't perfect for landing to do a go-around. There simply isn't time to fix whatever before landing so it's better to go around and try again. On a lot of commercial aircraft there is a button on the side of the thrust levers that is for take-off and go-around power levels, often called TOGO.

As a passenger, I've experienced a few severe cross winds landings and it is always pretty incredible to be looking out your window and see the runway approaching at like a 5-10 degree angle.

Ethiopian Cargo one was odd, it actually touched down, why did they abort?
