Gerard butler sucks. His music of the night high notes of “soar” and “be” were edited.

For me Ramin is perfect, his voice is strong and bold and when needed angelic and soft, and his acting is amazing , he added human emotions and feelings to the character something that we don't see much, he's not just an ugly monster he's a tortured human with deformity that prevent him from experiencing love. that's what Erik is. that's what all of us girlies who are obsessed with phantom saw in him

I will always respect Michael Crawford for being the original Phantom and for introducing me to the musical i love. 🖤 There is no doubt that Ramin is one of the greatest Phantoms we have ever had (John Owen Jones and Hugh Panaro being up there with him). I saw him in Love Never Dies and live from the cinema in Phantom 25th and they are experiences i will never forget. ❤ I personally love Gerry Butler's performance! He may not be as polished as Ramin but for the movie i like that. You have to give him credit for putting the work in (it's a role he really wanted) and i love his voice. I think if he hadn't had so much (unnecessary) negativity and continued to work with his singing teacher he could have got to the same level as MC. MC had to work on his singing...there is a huge difference from his performance in Hello Dolly compared to Phantom. Also, Gerry's acting in the role was amazing!! I will always defend his performance and he is among my favourite Phantoms. 🌹❤️

Michael Crawford is undeniably the original and absolute best. The nuances of his voice bring to life the vulnerability, darkness and complexity of the Phantom. Ramin is just another overinflated Broadway voice with too much emphasis on a full round sound rather than giving a performance through voice. His breathing and voice control are just to all over the place for my liking. Gerard’s physical performance was stunning, his voice was less important as cinema is a visual experience rather than both an audible and visual experience like theatre is. I think that Ben Lewis is a worthy contender to wear the mask after Michael Crawford as a modern day Phantom as again his performance is rooted in his voice with superb technique.

2004 was my intro. Since then I've appreciated Broadway singing more. But, I still love 2004. Though it's not the best singing wise, it's better to listen to it as a musical poem. Not a straight musical. It helps you hear the actual singing it.

Ramin really is the best phantom. Michael deserves all the respect in the world for helping turn this into a legendary musical, but Ramon’s voice and acting chops are too much to overcome. Gerard doesn’t enter the conversation.

Songs on this video that i like Gerard Butler singing. 1. Christine I love you. Makes me cry all the time. 2. Music of the night. I only like it when Gerard Butler is singing it, no one else. 3. Phantom of the opera. I like that song but not love. 4. Another bit of Music of the night. I like Music of the night, not love, just like. Only when Gerard Butler is singing it. 5. Point of no return (reprise) I love that song and I really love singing Christine's parts and I love it when Gerard Butler gets angry. And If you listen very carefully you can hear Gerard Butler's american accent go and turn into Scottish accent. 6. Down once more. I like the song but it is okay. 7. All I ask of you (reprise) I like the song but I used to cry when Gerard Butler was crying but not anymore, I only cry at the ending when he was singing to the monkey.
