First i think she was just upset because she loved the dress and was expecting him to be dumbstruck by it. And then he sounds like he was blindsided because the dress was too far left from what her theme was. Shes the one who came up with the theme. So i can see how he was thrown off with a ballgown type dress. So hes nta. He told the truth. It is also possible she had trouble finding a dress she liked that fit her theme and just settled for one she like and was frustrated he didnt like it.
