I tried this and it worked just fine but after some time the issue recurs. I did it again and it worked. Do I have to continue doing it ? It's a Macbook Air intel core i3 2020

@@abdulshakooromeiza5458 Glad it worked! But if the issue keeps coming back, it’s a good idea to check for updates or have the battery looked at so you don’t have to keep resetting the SMC.

make sure your macOS is up-to-date, as updates can sometimes resolve these kinds of issues. You can also try resetting the SMC again-sometimes a second reset can do the trick! 💻✨

Use a genuine Apple charger and try resetting the SMC(System Management Controller) with the MacBook plugged in. This often fixes charging issues when the battery is at 0%.Here’s how to reset the SMC: 1. Shut down your MacBook. 2. Connect it to the power source using the genuine Apple charger. 3. For MacBooks with a T2 chip: Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, release it, then press it again to turn on your MacBook. 4. For MacBooks without a T2 chip: Press and hold Control + Option + Shift keys on the left side of the keyboard and the power button for 10 seconds, release all keys, then press the power button again to turn on your MacBook. I have the exact opposite problem. I am trying to reinstall high sierra on mid 2012 macbookpro to fix a corrupted os since last year february without much luck. Today I went to internet recovery mode and using disk utility formatted the internal hard drive to apfs (as suggested by apple website) but high sierra could not be installed with the error "recovery server cannot be contacted". Looking at the logs i saw the reason being it does not like apfs format. I again used the disk utility to format the hard drive back to extended journaled but the operation failed (it unmounted the hard drive and was stuck at preparing to activate partition and then the operation finally failed ) and the hard drive ever since is in an unmounted state. Is there a way to mount it again and format it to extended journaled from the terminal in internet recovery mode? Please help me i dont have another laptop.

For the people who are still having the same error or couldn't proceed, if you are using an adapter for the SD card, try changing that and try again

do you have Identify the disk or volume you want to unmount, and take note of its identifier (e.g., disk0). 0:42 After identifying the disk, run the following command to unmount the disk or volume (replace diskXsY with the actual identifier): sudo diskutil unmount force /dev/diskXsY
