Thank you for this video. My grandfather left Cork in 1921 and came to Ellis island. He was 21. I now know some of what he experienced.

I had no idea the amount of death and destruction the Brits did to the country. No videos are rarely shown that actually show this. No idea Cork was destroyed like this. After the Brits left the country turns on itself and does the same thing. Amazing and sad

The British Authorities, boozers, looters, murders, rapists, they were the English Terrorists in Ireland.

The horrors they inflicted on people worldwide, from Ireland to India is unimaginable. Imagine Israel today but doing that on every continent if any army stood up to them. The most tyrannical regime in world history for my money.

The British left mayhem, and divisions behind them, and did the same in other countries also, thus civil war.

When Lloyd George introduced the Old Age Pension in 1908. Many older people in Ileland had no birth cert records. Instead the civil servents would ask the old person if "they remembered the night of the big wind". If they said yes, then they got the pension. Today, November 26th, is the anniversary of the great storm of 1703, that killed 10,000 people in the UK and Ireland. The winds over land reached 80-90 miles an hour and at sea, reached 140 miles an hour. We have never come close to such wind speeds over these islands since.

My only problem with all of this, is that the rabbi is Orthodox. Why too many Jewish communities throughout Europe are led or represented by an Orthodox rabbi. As if the Orthodox are the only denomination that matters. I am Conservative and it is an insult to my intelligence that all too often I am met by an Orthodox rabbi who thinks of me as nothing. We were the reason why the fascists of the Second World War hated us so much was because we were able to balance tradition with progression. I do like this video, but I believe it to be myopic as per the Orthodox.

I saw an interesting comment from a Russian Chabad rabbi recently. The Lubavitcher Rebbe was so driven and zealous to minister to scattered Jewish communities worldwide after the Shoah that he left no stone unturned in Chabad outreach. Add that influence to the large family size of observant Chasidim and it makes sense that the trend leans conservative/zealous.
