I remember when they started out! They had nothing but used up equipment and no interested patronage! My opinion, the F40PH was their best ever peice of equipment. A great workhorse!

On the trains going to Hoboken, is the car that as the drivers cab at the end only open on peak hour trains? Or do they also open it on peak hours as well? Which cars do they open?

I’m so old, I remember running thru here on NYNH&H pre-WWII coaches, and there was Nothing Nothing NOTHING On either side No Merritt 7 station or corporate buildings No condos No road on the west side Just a wide expanse of floodplain over which Merritt 7 was built And the old factory just south by the Parkway tunnel, that turned into Caldor HQ for many years.

My apologies for the dumb/newbie question, but why does it look like its going backwards. How can the Engineer (I think is the correct term) see if he's going backwards?
@RailfanJalen2 ай бұрын
It's called a cab car where the car gets the power of the locomotive so it can go into reverse, it's how American trains work

Lol, to be honest, as a NYC native, even before Moynihan existed it was just Penn Station underneath Madison Square Garden, SO, I was used to the confusion regarding Track #'s. It's a LOT better now, but your situation reminds me of when I was flying from Havana, Cuba back to the U.S. via Cancun, Mexico several years ago. I didn't know (nor did anyone else on the flight with me) our Gate # until LITERALLY like five minutes before the flight started boarding. 😂
