Lots of early memories pop up, but I'm not sure which are the oldest. Some of these memories are also about things that happened before _other_ things that I do not remember, but really should. I remember being taught how to play Battleship by the neighbors across the street, which happened what I was 3, but not the major car crash I went through when I was 4. I also do not remember tilting a whole filling cabinet on top of myself, or me getting hit by a motorbike at that same age. I remember jumping off the roof repeatedly and into a huge snowbank, which must have happened when I was 3 too (I checked the snowfall for my place and only one year fit). Don't remember stepping on a nail the following summer. I don't remember drinking the denture water left in a glass at my aunt's house (think I was 5), but I do remember getting lost by walking down the road and over the hill behind my house. I think I was 4 for that last one.

I was four, and I remember my parents talking quite a lot about "Kennedy". I was nine when Robert Kennedy was killed. Again, the name "Kennedy" was constantly brought up at home and in school. To some extent I may be "misremembering" and confusing the two assassinations.
@helloage6 ай бұрын
It’s quite common for significant events, especially ones as impactful as the Kennedy assassinations, to become intermingled in our memories, especially when we’re young. The repeated mention of “Kennedy” in both contexts could easily lead to some confusion or blending of the two events in your recollection. Memories from childhood, particularly from such an early age, can often be a mix of direct experiences and the emotions or discussions you were exposed to from adults.
@pversailles16 ай бұрын
Wow! I was also three years old when I was in front of our black-and-white TV and I looked up and my mother was crying. She put her hands over her face and Sobbed. And I also realized later on in life that it was the day that President Kennedy was assassinated.
@helloage6 ай бұрын
Wow, that's quite a historical coincidence! It's almost like your three-year-old self unwittingly became a part of history by witnessing your mother's emotional reaction to President Kennedy's assassination. It's amazing how these childhood memories can resurface and gain new significance as we grow older. Did you ever have any other unexpected encounters with history during your early years? It's always fun to look back and connect the dots between our personal experiences and the larger historical context.

I was 6mo old. My mom was at the grocery store and the news came over the speakers. She said a whole bunch of people left their carts where they were and left.
@helloage6 ай бұрын
It's quite a scene to imagine-people suddenly leaving their carts amidst the aisles, a grocery store frozen in time. It paints a vivid picture of a moment when the world outside overshadowed daily life, creating an impromptu community of shared experience. Even in its seriousness, there's a certain surreal, almost cinematic quality to the memory!

It sounds like you've got a treasure trove of warm memories mixed with the bittersweet passage of time. Those Christmas gatherings, singing, and laughter are precious moments to cherish. Even though things have changed, and you're feeling the loss deeply, remember that the spirit of those loved ones and the joy you shared still echoes in your current celebrations. It's okay to feel what you're feeling. Embrace the time with your dad and perhaps create new traditions that honor the past while making room for new memories. Sending you lots of strength and warmth this season! Keep the music and love alive in your heart. 🌟

My Mom got me a silver bracelet ( made in Italy), it's a type of chain that is not usual, and it's substantial. It survived my wearing it as a nurse and I never take it off. I miss my Mom so much.😢❤😢

Hey @Christine-Ga76, what a precious gift from your mom! That unique silver bracelet sounds like a beautiful token of her love, especially enduring through all your shifts as a nurse. It's wonderful how you keep it close, literally wearing the strength and love she gave you. Missing her is tough, but it sounds like her spirit is right there with you, wrapped around your wrist. Keep cherishing those memories and the special bond you shared. Keep shining just like your special bracelet.

In this day and age of "only fans" and porn addiction, how can you trust anyone?
@helloage7 ай бұрын
Absolutely, trust can be challenging in this digital age. However, it's important not to generalize based on the actions of a few. When interacting online, there are a few things you can do to help build trust. Communicating openly and honestly and taking your time to get to know someone are great starting points.

We get your frustration with the modern dating scene. While some people seem more casual, there are still those who value genuine romance. Some tips to help find meaningful connections would be to communicate your intentions early. Choose dating platforms wisely and expand your social circles. True connections take time, be patient. Plan romantic experiences to foster deeper connections. Remember, meaningful relationships are still possible. 😍
