I thought the processed vocal was still a little too harsh. It had more pop, and did not risk falling back into the mix, but for my taste I may have taken down the mids a bit and went easy on the 2k range

wonderful video series. I love this mixer, but I still found it challenging when rehearsing live. What I need to do is have about a dozen microphones, recording, drums and instruments, and then have two vocal mics actually go out of the main outputs to a PA, but all the rest of the mix only be recorded and not pass through live. I currently do this using two separate presonus mixers. My question is, do you know an easy way to send 4 inputs (2 mics, and stereo drum pads) to the main output only, and the entire mix to recording? thank you very much in advance -Scott
@crosslylucas19 күн бұрын
Hi Scott, This is possible with this mixer. If your'e recording with the SD card, you can arm the inputs you want to record in the multitrack page. When doing this, make sure to have the source point to 'Post Preamp' in config > USB/SD > Source Point. This means that when you multitrack record, the inputs you armed get recorded regardless of the fader page level.

Thanks for this video - it DOES answer the question of how to use plug-ins with the CQ-18T in a hybrid state, which is pretty cool but requires quite a bit of processing power to run with minimal latency - clearly, A&H need to add support for plug-ins directly to the mixer - geez, that would be a huge game changer !!!

These are great tips. I especially like Tip #2 on "channel presets". I have a lot of regular singers at my karaoke shows, and their voices need the same EQ every time they come up to sing, so by storing/loading their individual EQ settings as presets every time they come up, I can quickly dial-in their mic even if it's the same mic channel.

Im probably going to be taken as an ass, but between your accent , the volume of the music and how quiet, monophonic and stacato-ic you speak and how fast you speak and on and on, I cant for the life of me follow most of what you explain . Its great content but hard to follow . Please slow down and speak clearly with articulate better for the sake of your audience . You're a wealth of knowledge regarding the CQ18T, but for me at least, and I would think others, it sure would be helpful if you considered my advise . Im not addressing this video particularly , but all your videos . Again , not to be a prick but Its taxing trying to get through some of these videos . Thanks otherwise for the time you put into these . After you read this , eliminate it if you want . It was addressed to you and not meant to insult so i wouldn't hold it against you if you choose to remove my post , if that's even possible. Anyway , Thanks again for what you're doing.

Hey Thanks for the feedback, I definatly agree with you. I write scripts for my videos so that I am clear on what I want to say. I think I forget sometimes that what makes sense to me in my head, doesn't always transfer on youtube (mainly due to how fast I speak). I appreciate you taking your time to share your advice... this is something I definitely need to work on. Thanks.

I received mine today. I was able to set it up within 20 minutes after watching your videos and get sound to my headphones and everything. I have 11 microphones, eight on the drums and a couple vocals and guitar. Plus I have a digital drum machine that I trigger. This is the best interface/digital mixer I've ever seen. Thank you again for your amazing tutorials! I am now learning what I like to have on auto gain and what I like to just set and leave it. For most of my drum mics once I find a good volume I want to set them that way. But occasionally when we were jamming or just rehearsing something new, it's nice to have the auto level feature. I haven't even got into the EQ yet. I had to revisit your video to find where it is, this thing is intuitive but also vast. Thanks for this great tutorials. Barely scratching the surface of this amazing mixer. To be able to set up different scenes and save them is very useful. I can already tell the sound qualtily is great. I'm coming from a presonus 12 ch board. it was fine, but this is next level. The next task is to figure out how to use it with logic audio on my Mac. The computer found it right away and the Audio MIDI Setup sees it has a 24 track in 24 track out interface. But I have yet to get it to play sound from logic.

I actually found a way to make multitrack Stems from Logic Pro that work with the CQ18T. You need to make sure to bounce in Mono. That's where it went wrong for me. 1. Select the tracks you want to bounce 2. Open Mixer, set Stereo Out to MONO and on the bottom of that same channel click the button 'bnc' 3. Settings: WAV - 24-bit - 48khz 4. Make a new folder (AHCQ/USBMTK/******) ** Note: the folder can have any name but a maximum of 6 letters 5. The name of each stem needs to be the channel number on the CQ and the name of the channel (eg: 16Click.wav) Hope that helps!

I have one more question, if you used it to record into daw with usb-b, to hear what you had recorded you cannot set only channels like 19,20 as usb and all the channels to be routed there and for mixing to use the mixer inside the daw ?
@crosslylucas2 ай бұрын
Hi, by default, Inputs 1&2 on the mixer are for the Stereo outs of your DAW. This means that by default, your Left and Right mix from your DAW will go to Inputs 1 & 2 of the digital mixer. If your DAW allows it you can set different outputs to individual inputs on the mixer. For example: Track 1 from your DAW can be sent to input 12 on the mixer.

Hello dear. I am about to buy one for my band, for our live performances. If i want to playback multitrack (around 8 stereo files) without using DAW, is it doable with this mixer? like i put them on an sd card or a usb card, and can i play multitrack? assign each track to faders and mix live on the fly? for example if u have 1-kick 2- rest of drums 3- bass 4- keys 5- vocals etc.... all prerecorded and on the top i want to add live instruments, and i want to mix the prerecorded tracks, for example the kick in track 1 is low, i wana use a fader to raise it, the vocal on track is is high, i wanna decrease its volume etc..... are such sorts of routings doable?
@crosslylucas2 ай бұрын
This is possible through this mixer using the SD card. I cover this at 3:43 sec. It's not the most convenient way of doing it, but it's possible. Once the tracks are on the SD card, you can mix them however you like with the live instruments. Hope that helps...
