Never fished that area, but that spot looks like there are alot of fish though. Maybe better luck next time bro.

Believe it’s called Calhoun Cut, it’s off of 113 in between Rio Vista and Vacaville.

Are there crabs there? If so they could be eating your bait
@Rod_Bending_With_Jacob7 күн бұрын
Idk if there are crabs in this spot. It is possible that there are some, but I have yet to see one out there. I think it is a little too far inland for crabs but I’m not an expert so there might be.

Somebody else mentioned the dungeness size limit is 5.75"across the carapace, but it's also not counting the lateral spine. The season is also closing at that location very soon (open further into the year in certain locations that i can't recall) You can also keep rock crab throughout the year but i personally wouldn't keep them unless they're well over 5 inches across. They didn't have as much meat as dungeness but they're damn tasty Good luck with the chemo dude. It's a rough ride but I'm glad you're doing well

When you're casting imagine you're holding a wet paintbrush and you're trying to flick water at eye level on a wall in front of you. It will immediately improve your cast.

Do the fish go for the fake or live bait more I'm supposed to go up there to fish on my bday on the 30th
@Rod_Bending_With_Jacob11 ай бұрын
From what I’ve found they love night-crawlers, and live crawdads. Night-crawlers(live worms) are by far the easiest way to catch them. Although if your pretty decent with lures you can figure it out. I am not the best with artificial lures so I find it easier with live bait.

You've probably learned this by now but you don't need to 'set the hook' for crab snares. You can rip their legs off doing it like that. You simply need consistent pressure to keep the loops from losing tension. You can test this out of the water, it's not a lot.

Yeah, my buddy was telling me I had to, and I later found out that he was wrong. Thanks for dropping the advice, I could always use it.

That sound you mentioned is the fog horn for the boats. Bodega Bay gets very foggy all the time and they need that for the boats to not hit the rocks in the fog
