Great job! I like HYROX from the aspect that not all of us can do gymnastic skills, but can do these stations. Such a wide age bracket too. And as I’m in my mid 50’s, arthritis in thumb joints so no gymnastics. I dont have a box but train out of my garage. Let’s leave Hyrox the way it is

Damn you absolutely crushed that. I feel like Hyrox has done something very right about how accesible it is. Pretty much everyone can do the movements. And at some level I feel like it's becoming what Crossfit was originally supposed to be. Look at how the elite Hyroxers moves compared to a lot of Games athletes (not Beth tho); They just move their big and strong bodies so smoothly and naturally, while a lot of crossfiters get so bulky that it affects their natural movement patters a lot more.

Sweet! Did 1st in your age division qualify for any type of higher stage like nationals or worlds? Hyrox is a great way to test and express fitness gained from CrossFit. Maybe do a ladies Doubles with Hayley Murillo! You ladies would crush it! I did my first Hyrox in DC last March. We had ~16 folks from 460 Fitness doing just about every division. 2nd go will be this coming March. I'm hoping to get down towards a 1:20. As a CrossFitter the running is pretty obviously where I can improve the most. It's 40-60% running. And yeah compromised running is a big thing. Running with big 'ol leg sacks of lactic acid lol. 3:10 BBJ time! I'd take that fresh lol. And you crossed the finish line looking fresh as a daisy! lol

That's exactly what I thought too, one of the secrets of Hyrox's success is the consistency that makes it possible for everyone to train in a targeted way and not constantly chase after new skills like in Crossfit and always have the feeling of only being mediocre everywhere...

Just do assisted pull ups if you're trying to do pull ups. Why would lat pull downs be a better option than something that's literally designed to make the pull up easier?
@skidaddleattle5 күн бұрын
because mayhaps one might not have that machine
@itsnottimetostop44625 күн бұрын
@@skidaddleattle we're talking about commercial gyms here. Never been to one which had a lat pull down machine but not an assisted pull up machine And even if that is the case, you provide the best (and still somewhat easily accessible) option first and then explain the alternatives.
@chonke7966 күн бұрын
Lat pull downs dont lead to a pull up very well you might as well just skip them tbh

@howenanthonyfernandojr.15936 күн бұрын
Hi! In case they don't answer, I'm a guy who went from 0 - 10 pull ups in just under a yr. If you have access, use an assisted pullup machine. You can choose the amount of assistance that allows you to do around 8 reps for multiple sets. Then just lower the assistance as you get stronger.
@valentinalek56656 күн бұрын
try roids, it'll help
@1337sim16 күн бұрын
There's 2 ways to get better at pull ups. You can get lighter OR stronger. I assume you want to get stronger... Are you hitting your failure point? If not, make it harder. Are you progressively overloading? If not, do 10% more reps or weight every week. Edit: try assisted pull-ups with a machine or elastic bands. Hope this helps

On the topic of cooldowns after a run. The running community is split on this. From what I can tell from general Googling of this topic is that it's not harmful to your body to not have a cooldown run. Some do it because of an old school way of thinking and adds more mileage to your weekly total and some don't to it because there is no evidence that it helps the body.
