this song falls into the same category as Kate Bushs "Running up the hill" . i hope that someday it is re-discovered as well

Actual chills listening to this. I grew up in The Beatles era but I swear this man and this band, from the outset, have and continue to, create the most powerful, evocative, and brilliant music and lyrics of my lifetime.

Like many women in this world, I have a crush on Slash, he's one of the coolest guys out there and so handsome. I wish I had his hairstyle at least. And 1% of his guitar skills.

Odd how they never did an MTV Unplugged. It's pretty obvious they would have done a great job especially with Gish and Siamese Dream. Mellon Collie works too but I dunno, there's something about 1993-1994 Pumpkins where they hit their stride. Say what you will but Billie with hair was a different prescence.

If anyone is confused in this modern era about the question; "What is a woman?" simply answer "Sheryl Crow".

I know every generation says their music was the best and music from previous and subsequent generations will never be able to compare to it, this time though, it's actually true.

For flap's sake, people are commenting that this song was the intro track of Dawson's Creek, a teen drama show? This song is a haunting remembrance of a World War II combat veteran who was forever changed by the horrors he saw. She had two babies, one was six months, one was three In the war of '44 Every telephone ring, every heartbeat stinging When she thought it was God calling her Oh, would her son grow to know his father? He showed up all wet on the rainy front step Wearing shrapnel in his skin (side note, do Dawson's Creek fans even know what shrapnel is?) And the war he saw lives inside him still It's so hard to be gentle and warm Hurray Dawson's Creek fans, you really know what this song is about. (Roll eyes with visceral disdain)
