Not the woman. The technical ability to shoot usable video with only the light from the moon. Before the A7Siii, this was mostly impossible.

Hi, thanks for your long review video. We will forward your suggestions on BM5WR to the related department. About the disappointing point, we guess that you want to say that BM5WR can't do SDI IN to HDMI OUT, because BM5WR doesn't have HDMI OUT port. We also look forward to your new video after the Cinenorm OS is released~

A couple of notes: 1. Yes, I know the focus is terrible through most of this video. 2. The previous BM monitors did not have Wi-Fi. Only Bluetooth from the add on module. The WR has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in. 3. Adding the record button "tool" to one of the four buttons on the top of the camera could be a great idea to add a physical record button. 4. I have since adjusted my zebras to have the high at IRE 96 and the low at IRE 5, which makes it useful. 5. The focus tracking DOES work through the monitor, but you have to make sure that it's selected on the camera before trying to use it on the monitor. Once you do select it, you will not have the option to change the focus size or type on the monitor. 6. Yes, I know this video is long and boring, but some people actually like this level of detail on things they're considering buying. 7. This is a truly unique monitor that does things that no other monitor can do. I'll probably do a follow up video once the CINENORM OS update is released for this monitor.

Hi. I randomly thought of you and was wondering how many miles your ND had now. Ok, bye.
@goodeggproductions Жыл бұрын
I'm around 47k after almost 8 years. As far as maintenance, I've replaced the tires once and done mostly routine oil changes. And that's it. I broke my side mirror, but that was totally me being careless and it was a 60-some dollar fix. And then I had to change out the battery in the remote a few times. I'm planning to replace the front brake pads with my next tire replacement in about 10K miles, and one day I'll replace the front fender liners because lowering it has caused some wear. But all in all, except for the issues of crashing it the day after I bought it, and the top making a rattle because of that (which was eventually fixed), the ND has been perfect. Granted, I really don't beat on it. But if that means I get to just enjoy the car with no major upkeep expenses, I'm ok with that. Recently drove it 2000 miles back and forth from Orlando to Houston and it was fine.

Hello friend, I really need your help, yesterday I bought this monitor without knowing much about it, I thought it controlled my bmpcc 6k via bluetooth and that's it. It was a great disappointment when I saw that I was deceived, because on Amazon, in the photograph of this same monitor, it brought a photo of the antenna that came in the box. In short, I can't control my bmpcc6k via bluetooth, I tried connecting via cable and that didn't work either. How can I do to control by cable? Thank you very much and CONGRATULATIONS for your content.
@goodeggproductions Жыл бұрын
You need the bluetooth module with the monitor. It will not control anything by cable.

So my question is can I use this with the red Komodo without the wireless control ? I know the WR version gives you that option, but If I just wanted to use the SDI to just be able to have a monitor for the Komodo can I do that with this monitor?
@goodeggproductions Жыл бұрын
I’m just using a phone as a monitor with the RED Control app. It’s honestly the best monitor you can use with the Komodo.

@@goodeggproductions oh wow!! So the latency doesn’t get in the way of monitoring your footage or missing frames? I’m assuming you’re doing it the wireless way correct?
@goodeggproductions Жыл бұрын
@@slater-studios I have not found it to be an issue. In fact, if there was a way to boost the WiFi coming from the camera, I’d use that transmission system for my 1sr AC pulling focus as it’s got less latency than ANY wireless system I’ve tested thought the SDI out.

Great review! Any thoughts on an untreated (and echo-ey) room? Am considering the W.Lav Pro + 3.5mm adapter, perhaps combined with an AI-micro to tweak with the settings + have an interface that connects to my iPhone/Macbook straight away. It is omnidirectional however. Would that pose a problem and/or does that bring forward other consideration in your opinion?
@goodeggproductions Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the very late response. I've found that ANY lav mic, when properly placed will always be better than a boom in an echoey room. Just do what you can to get the mic as close to the mouth as possible and you'll be fine.

Now that you mention that, it sounds like it might have been a good idea. However, 6 years later and at least 8k miles, the shield is looking as good as the day I reinstalled it. So maybe that high temp paint just works different.

As an owner of two defective 15.4" envy x360 laptops, I cannot recommend this product. I purchased my first in December, used it for about 8 weeks, and out of nowhere, the screen flipped upside down as if it was in tablet mode. I attempted to reboot it, but the computer never came back on. No LED indicators, no signs of life. Long story: Since it was still under warranty, I called the support center and spent about two hours on the phone before they asked me to send it to their service center for a repair. Two weeks later, I received it back, tried to turn it on, and nothing happened. It was as if the service center did nothing but forward it straight back to me. I sent it back a second time (after another 2 hour call). A week passed, and the tracking information showed that it had never been received. I called them, waited on the phone for the default hour or so, and was assured that they'd received it but the tracking information hadn't been updated. Three weeks passed, and the tracking information never showed received. And I hadn't received any update from HP. Once again, I spent an hour waiting to get someone on the phone, and I finally reached someone who spoke clear English. I asked what happened. The representative said he had "no visibility or contact" with the service center it was shipped to. I asked how it was possible their own service center couldn't contact the other service center. He said he didn't know but that it's always been like that. I received my laptop back about 10 days later in the same condition I'd sent it in the first two times. I got back on the phone explaining how I wouldn't send it in again and that I'd like a replacement or refund. They said they couldn't rebuild it but would send me a similar laptop. They sent me a refurb with slightly better specs. I received it today. Guess what happened when I tried to turn it on. Blank screen (I can't make this up). This replacement/refurb has a different problem than my original. My original shows no signs of life, whereas the replacement unit shows LED power indicators and makes boot noises. Short story: Due to my experience with HP, this product, their service center and their escalation department, I will say that I have no confidence in this company, so buyer beware. HP makes most of its profits from big companies: defense contractors and so forth. So a single individual like myself is not on their radar. If your product works, great. If not, good luck beating the odds!

Do you think that fx30 could do this in a usable manner?
@goodeggproductions Жыл бұрын
Well, the iso can go as high as the A7Siii, but I'm not sure if it would perform the same with the smaller sensor. Obviously, I did some noise reduction on the footage and you should be able to clean up the FX30 footage too. Maybe if you didn't shoot in slow motion, you'd have at least 1 to 1.5 extra stops of light captured and that would look even better.

I watched your video several times before I replaced my master brake cylinder on my 1990 Miata today. I still made a couple of mistakes. I forgot to keep the angle bolt loose when trying to thread it back and it was difficult. But the big question I have is the following: that lower angled connector, the really difficult one to thread back in, I was getting a leak through that one when pushing down on the brake pedal. In order to stop this leak, I had to tighten it beyond what I thought was a proper amount. Is that normal? oh by the way thanks for posting this video. It was quite entertaining. Here’s another question: I have not bled the brakes yet, and they feel fine, no longer mushy or going to the floor, so the cylinder was the issue. I already had new brake fluid in there, so I won’t be able to tell when the old fluid is out when bleeding. Scratching my head on that one

is there any difference between the BM5 III & BM5 III WR? Is it solely the wireless control?
@goodeggproductions Жыл бұрын
The guts are essentially the same, but the bluetooth is now built into the unit rather than having to purchase the BT unit separately. Also, the WR unit supports camera function with the RED Komodo. I have NO IDEA why the BM5iii can't do this. Other than maybe PortKeys didn't want to go through the process of getting it RED Certified. There's no reason why it shouldn't be able to, and that's a bummer since I'm upgrading from BlackMagic to RED just this week. Since filming this, I was able to get updated firmware and the BM5iii works perfectly well with the BlackMagic for wireless camera control.

@goodeggproductions2 жыл бұрын
No, they didn't do anything for me. But I've also moved on. I now use an OSEE monitor with my cameras. And I don't use the control functions of the monitor anymore. It was a cool function, but ultimately, the only real things I used was the record button. I actually never even tried to use a cable with the A7Siii because by that time, I didn't care to control my cameras through monitors.
