I think it's shameful for a Christian to be associated with creating ANYTHING with AI! It shows such a fundamental lack of discernment to be disturbing on so many levels!
@rockfyre3095Күн бұрын
Maybe a subject for the future: comparing christian rock and metal bands to their "counterparts". Example: If you like Ratt, you're sure to love Whitecross. Judas Priest? Give Saint a try, you won't be sorry. Helloween? Listen to Recon. Good idea, yes?

Do you even write these songs or is it 100% AI?
@PastorBradRocksКүн бұрын
Honestly -- you need to dive in and try it for yourself--then you'll see what the process is like. The AI does generate the final song--but it's guided by the promps you input, style, lyric/theme, and so on. In my case--I often go through several iterations before I get the final product I'm going for. If you're blessed by it--awesome, if it's not your thing... no worries, just skip it. Blessings and thanks for sharing!

Christian metal: Exists. Metal elitists: Christian metal isn't real metal, poser. Religious fundamentalists: Metal music isn't Christian, poser. It seems like metal elitists have much in common with those fundies who believe rock/metal music, rap music and modern Christian music in general is sinful. XD
@PastorBradRocksКүн бұрын
Metal Music is not "owned" by anyone... period. It's a genre. When Christ-followers create songs in this style--we call it "Christian" simply to denote who it honors--you can denigrate it... etc. any way you want--but that doesn't change anything... it stil is--what it is. Thanks for sharing!

My understanding is that Rock grew out of the Blues so follows Blues chord progressions and rhythms (downbeats on 2 and 4, for example); metal is more classically orientated in progressions and rhythm (downbeats on 1 and 3).

Pastor Brad another fantastic video as usual. Love your videos. Growing up listening to Christian rock, and Hair metal, I never thought that I’d be listening to Christian alternative rock. I just never thought I’d be interested. Then a friend of mine back in 09 said you’ve check out this band called Skillet. I’m like sure I’ll give them a listen. Not really giving them a chance and thinking this isn’t gonna be that great. I look them up in the Apple iTunes Store and the 1st album Hero. The 1st time I heard the song Hero I had that same feeling that I experienced back in September of 85 when I 1st heard Soldiers Under Command by Stryper. I’ve been hooked ever since. Ive seen Skillet twice and both shows were just in your face energetic shows in a good way. They are phenomenal live and I live their unapologetic stance for Christ. Jen Ledger is one of my favorite drummers and Korey is just so amazingly talented along with John and Seth. I’m going to checkout Flyleaf. I don’t if you’ve ever heard of the band Fireflight. I don’t know if they’re considered Christian alternative rock but they are really good. God bless.

I want to say that even though this is good there's always a lot more we can delve into within the Christian Music World especially in the alternative side and the history of it is scattered about though. However, at least from people like J.J Thompson or other people that have written articles or web pages and individuals involved helped push the music world before it became a priority to market because it seems to me for the Christian music world the big commercial sales for Christian Alternative rock seemed to spike by 1995 both by Jesus Freak and Jars of Clay. From my own personal listening and research the big 4 alternative artists that I got to appreciate in the formation of it before it became more of a cash grab was Adam Again, The 77s, Daniel Amos and The Choir. They even worked together to do music together for both Lost Dogs and The Swirling Eddies. Michael Knott being a part of Lifesavers, LSU, his solo stuff, being the owner of Blonde Vinyl and former co-owner of Tooth and Nail. Eugene Andresco (Adam Again's singer and engineer/mixer for various artist up to his death on March 20th 2000) Joey Taylor (Undercover was one of the first Christian Punk artists around in the early 1980s) were owners of Broken Records and Brainstorm Artists International. Please do not see this as bashing you or anything but I want to add more context for you and others to look into and make informed decisions. Third Day's Mac Powell talked about in Todd Zeller's rough draft of his Adam Again documentary that Adam Again was an influence to him in which is why he did I Remember You (originally The Tenth Song on Adam Again's Ten Songs in 1988) for City on A Hill in 2000. King's X's Dug Pinnick influenced John Cooper and many others outside the Christian world. I hope some of this helps and have a great day!

Man our stories are so similar right down to the AU connection- attended there 1993-97! Grew up in a Christian home but in 86 was about to enter middle school and was very impressionable in terms of music-all my friends getting into the secular metal bands. On a family vacation in May ‘86 we visited a Christian bookstore owned by some of my Dads relatives and that is where I was introduced to Stryper. Was totally blown away. Dad bought us TYABA cassette and let’s just say my life changed forever. For about a year that was all I knew and we wore that cassette out! Then someone bought me the cassette “Righteous Metal” and that opened up another whole new world - Bloodgood, Barren Cross, Saint etc. This music and was life changing to me in my teens and still to this day. Thanks for sharing this list and your story. God Bless!
