Hi, I'd be happy to help you with that. I am a certified instructor who can provide instruction on 60+ kicking and banking systems using the diamonds and more. We can work at your pace either in person (my school in Vestal NY) or live online (same efficacy as in person, honest). Give me a shout and we can set you up with a first lesson, or if you'd prefer recorded videos please check out a free trial to patreon.com/dragonbilliardsinstruction where we share exclusive content including lots of kicking systems. Good video. It's called "the 6th pocket," don't know why since a table already has 6 pockets.
@DragonBilliardsInstruction5 ай бұрын
Hi, I think you're referring to 7th pocket (a midpoint parallel shift method for single rail kicks). This is a different system that builds off of a single rail kick, by using the angle to get to a corner pocket (which you can find using 7th pocket) but applying maximum sidespin to go to the 6th diamond on the 3rd rail. Hope this helps clarify. Thanks!

How does your aim spot change if you are two railing an object ball and not just kicking a ball?
@DragonBilliardsInstruction11 ай бұрын
As in a bank shot? The idea of converting a kick system into a bank system is to have the OB do what the CB would do if it was a kick. Aim, Spin, and Speed. Unfortunately, you can't transfer quite the amount of spin from CB to OB needed on this system, so you'll aim a touch further from the pocket you're hooking around to compensate, but try to maintain the same speed. CB needs opposite English as well to transfer running English to OB. It's a juggling act, balancing aim spin and speed...this is why kicks have more accurate systems than banks. But I hope this gives you enough to discover your own feel for banking with this system. Thanks for asking!

I tried this for half an hour yesterday, couldn't hit a single ball. It was always going wide, running English or not. Should I blame the table?
@DragonBilliardsInstruction11 ай бұрын
The most common error is the parallel shift. Most people who learn this try moving the cue parallel but they don't move their feet at the same rate as their hands so they tend to change the line. I recommend standing back and visualizing the parallel line to see if that helps. Another common error is not finding the midpoint correctly in the first place, so dont be afraid to measure if needed while learning. If neither of those corrections work, then adjust back towards the pocket a bit after the parallel shift to temporarily compensate until you subconsciously start seeing the required line Better. Hope this helps!
@micha-4211 ай бұрын
@@DragonBilliardsInstruction Thanks for the feedback man! I tried it again today, measuring stuff precisely with reinforcement rings, and it just goes wide. The cloth on the Diamond tables at my poolhall is fairly worn out, so I'm thinking that on the short cushion, the cue ball picks up tons of running English, and bounces wide on the second cushion. I can't seem to be able to adjust the English in any direction to make the hit on that parallel line though. I rewatched that video of yours many time, thinking damn, I missed something, but really, it may just be not happening there. :-/
