Congrats on the flowering. Is it a grafted tree or did you grow it from seed?

If you look in the background there are a few big ones on the table, with a key lime next to them as well. Cheers!

Cool man, I'm in Massachusetts growing Jalapenos (among many other plants) and I'm going to try some purple gator jigsaw and scotch bonnet. Nice stuff you got there!

Did the plant bear flowers during the stress period or after you watered it?
@steelcitygreenthumb
@steelcitygreenthumb 2 ай бұрын
As soon as I saw any flower buds forming I started watering it like crazy from that point on. But not until I saw noticeable flower buds all over.

@@steelcitygreenthumbyes it works. I starved it for 3 weeks and leaves started to curl. Watered it good and a few days later, buds are out.

hello, for peppers do you use calcium? iron, bor? i try to keep flowers on a plant of Habanero, it has 7 years old, he make flowers and they are ALL aborted. At the limit of pistil and insertion with rod is always black kind of. now i started with this i asked before, calcium, iron, bor, maybe that was the problem?

Do you mean that it is the same plant that has been alive for 7 years? If so, that is probably what is happening because it has reached the end of its life cycle. If it's a case that you have been growing from seeds from the same plant for 7 years, then it could definitely be something otherwise.

@@steelcitygreenthumb ye, 7 years alive and never harvest a fruit from it. always dropping all flowers.....sad

@@EmilDragonuloh, it has never produced any fruit? That is definitely strange. Especially if it has stayed alive for this long and produces flowers every season.

With all the polin around will they cross with each other
@steelcitygreenthumb
@steelcitygreenthumb 3 ай бұрын
There is a very good chance that they will. I have a few peppers that I'm going to be trying to crossbreed that I have kept very separate from everything else. Otherwise, the only way that you would ever know would be planting the seeds and letting them grow through next season. When cross pollination happens, it's never in the actual peppers that grow on that plant. It is the seeds inside that contain the cross of the genetics.

What did they do through the winter?
@steelcitygreenthumb
@steelcitygreenthumb 3 ай бұрын
I had them in my basement under grow lights. Kept most of them active throughout the winter, but just enough to keep them alive and going. Only pushed a few to the point of actually flowering and producing fruit.

Thanks for the info, I have two calamansi trees same size as yours, about 4 years old and never saw buds on the tree. I will definitely try your way. Thanks

Just remember that stress is the trick. I read a few things that suggested you could do the same method with very minimal water. I went the route that I did, completely dry, because the plant was already very healthy when I started. You want it to think that it is in danger of dying, not actually dying. Good luck!
