How bout using it from the shore? We fish from canals and lagoons from the shore, and sometimes waves and wind will fool us in thinking there’s a fish on..but I do like the flag concept of alerting of a bite !!! Thanks for the video

The Ikejime process is even better, doesn't allow lactic acid to build up and the fish doesn't die from stress.

Bleed the fish. We bleed the fish so they are not messy to clean and allow for a clean fillet. Hope this helps

Can we use side planer with spinning reel or only baitcaster
@gregkarch98294 жыл бұрын
The OR38 which is a smaller board you could use a spinning rod

Great video! What is the reason for moving the back clip to the top of the board ? Does this make the board fall back better when when you have a fish on ?
@gregkarch98295 жыл бұрын
Just found this setup is best for running in rougher water. You should have the holes on board to setup this way.

The biggest issue I usually have is wind … trying to get the speed down to 1 mph is a challenge in the wind, you have to go faster just to be able to control the boat

I appreciate the instruction. Plural of 'foot' is 'feet', though. Plus, wasn't there a fish on at the end of the video? Would've been cool to watch the landing of that fish. Nice job otherwise.

How do you tell if you have a fish without the tattle flag? About 20 years ago I went on a boat with a pro walleye fisherman and he used these boards however they didn't have the flags. He would just picked up the pole and handed it to me when a fish was on. I never understood how he knew
@gregkarch98296 жыл бұрын
The board will slowly or quickly go back. If multiple boards on each side you will be able to tell when they go out of line. Hope this helps

a carp is not a trashfish, tey were brought over to the US from england for food
@gregkarch98297 жыл бұрын
Generally not many people eat carp but like the fight they have when hooked. I have heard carp are pretty good smoked.
@zzzzzz...99026 жыл бұрын
I disagree for a couple reasons. The first reason is that not many people eat them for food anyways because carp are so boney, so it doesn't matter. Secondly, many carp species like the Asian carp are an invasive species and in some states, you're required to kill it by law. A trash fish, in my opinion, is any fish that is an invasive specie for obvious reasons.

If the depth is 1/2 the line you let out, the angle is not 45 deg. but 60 degrees.

What's the purpose of the side planer? What's it do, how does it help? Been looking everywhere for an explanation, thanks.
@LawnZip7 жыл бұрын
matt clara a little late but they take the lines off to the side of the boat making it possible to troll multiple lines/boards off the sides of the boat. And my personal theory as to why they work better than trolling straight back (besides tangled lines) is that your lure isn't trimming directly behind the boat in the wake but it's off the the side in the calmer water.

Ice fishing is a great sport but just like anything else safety is key. Any ice thinner than 4 inches is considered unsafe. I would recommend to go with someone that has equipment

why not rig planer board on a separate junk rod and reel so you dont have to fight the board and the fish?

Can I expect the same results while anchored in a current?
@DreamHooksFishing9 жыл бұрын
+rjtassie In that situation I highly suggest a Jet Diver. It may not spread your lines as far but Jet Divers work excellent while anchored in a current.

Ushould you could use the Off Shore Planer board model OR34 and I think this would work great for you as long as you have a current.
