People really shouldn't complain this was before TCG and also its the anime/manga. Early Yugioh, especially duelist kingdom, was basically duel monsters mixed with D&D. Battle City was closer to the trading card game in real life albeit with its own rules. Yami didnt make up anything 😤

I liked the concept of the toon cards the most. Honestly THAT aspect of toon world should've been carried over into the IRL card. But modified. Effect: once per turn while Toon World is face up on the field all toon monsters cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. You can pay 500 life points to prolong this effect per toon monster. Meaning. Say you have three toons. A card effect targets all of them at once. The first time is free. If a secondary effect is activated you have to pay 500 points per toon. So that's 1500 life points taken from you to make sure your toons survive

We could not read english and needed dad to explain. We got to the point that we made up the effects based on the look. (And as the oldest i was mainly the person declaring the effect. "Remove brainwashing" had the effect to change both players. You dumped all cards, used this card and won from a losing position. Inferno was eating skuls. Therefor it could kill zombies. And there was a 'inflict 1500'. So you also did 1500 damage. And how conveniant that he had an all zombie deck... Then there was the point that we started to learn english and found out what they did. Good old times.
