I have to say it, this is much more a Peter song than a Davy, with all due respect to Davy.❣

I love when Peter sings this song alone. I heard in an interview that he sang harmony with Davy. I just heard the song and could hear Peter as well as Davy.

I wasn’t around when this song came up but I love how Davey Jones was featured in a SpongeBob episode called SpongeBob VS The Big One Davey Jones is seen welcoming the Flying Dutchman to his locker while signing this song then threw one of his socks at him after he put him in his locker

Fell in love w him watching The Monkees as a child. Got to meet & dance w him in the 80's . He was playing DJ Vince Fontaine in a stage production of Grease in Chgo. He came onstage before the play started to ask for volunteers from the audience to "Twist" w to records he was playing. I practically flew onstage! What a wonderful man! Great dancer too! I've always been grateful for that night! I've met a lot of celebs--but Davy holds a special place in my heart. RIP.

"THE MONKEES" I had a Hanger(Cardboard) with his face and his shoulders! My Favorite Shirt at the time would hang! I Love Davy! I was 15, when I was a dancer invited with Our Dance Company, to preform on "THE STEEL PIER" ! Was walking from rehersal out the preformers exit and THERE WAS MICKEY DOLENZ!! MONKEES ALWAYS

Rest in peace. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. In December, I emailed Micky Dolenz and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October.

This really should have been recorded by Peter. Nothing wrong with Davy's version, but Peter's voice is a much better match for the lyrics and feel

It is funny, how well all the boys aged quite gracefully over the many years. It is too bad to have lost some of the boys, but age happens, and they have a forever legacy.

Davy will be ever associated with this song & he sang it with aplomb but I've often wondered if he ever got sick of it? Anyway, this is a lovely tribute with the various collations of him thru the years.
