In the US, the C section rate is 1:3. Private midwives are $6K+ and if you’re too early or too late they won’t care for you.

I'm sick of witnessing freebirth being presented as "high-risk". Women don't choose an unassisted birth although 'they would really prefer not to'. I myself have had an unassisted birth and I had decided against a hospital birth from the moment I knew I was pregnant. This was the greatest decision of my life. I am so glad that I did not have a midwife there. Ain't nobody going to tell me about what's happening with MY BODY and MY BABY.

And where is the concern for victims of sexual assault??! Some women are affected dramatically by forced penetration from a stranger, and I would dispute, that all women should feel somewhat violated by it if they have not led a promiscuous lifestyle that desensitized them to intimate exposure.

In other words...medically controlled birth is a disaster waiting to happen. TRAUMA, TRAUMA, TRAUMA. Relaxed, empowering, natural birth the way to go. Thankfully I found this out before motherhood, and had 4 natural births, even with a supportive obstetrician back in the 80s-90's!
@TheFabFarmer Жыл бұрын
My reason for freebirthing my babies is because birth in a well-nourished healthy woman just works best when undisturbed. Every other mammal goes into their own space to birth. Also, it is hard to find a midwife that actually serves women and not just serves her ego. That’s my reasoning.

Home birth with medical assistance is beneficial and more safe from my perspective. In my country where newborn Are abducted in daylight even from most safeguarded hospital and I would recommend to find midwives if you did not have medical issues during pregnancy

After lots of educating myself I decided freebirth was the only way I would ever birth. I don't need anyone to save me or my babies. Waiting on my 5th baby right now. It is the most powerful experience ever. I totally understand wanting a woman to hold space but I can't imagine anyone who is capable of that for me. My partner and children have been all I want or need. I look forward to eventually holding space for other women who need/want it though. It should also be pointed out that some women choose to get outside care during pregnancy and others go full wild and free pregnancy and birth.

Hi Melanie Love your podcast. I tried for a VBAC and baby’s heart rate went really low. Like in the 50s. I had to have an emergency c section. The cord was around his neck and contractions were making it worse. Wouldn’t ctg have saved his life in this case?

How many of these things happened while mother was laboring alone? I know I've gotten mouthy when medical people ask to speak with me privately and then ask me what kind of procedures I want done and I've refused to answer until my husband is in the room with me. I tell them we make all decisions together and they have no right to separate us.

I've been really trying my best to avoid the IV antibiotics myself.. but watching videos like this can be scary: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3ylfaqfg9iiqLM Basically, the UK govt doesn't screen, but people are advocating for it given how devastating the consequence is if baby does get sick from grp B strep.. so I'm not sure what to think tbh :(

I live in a relatively remote area of the fjords of Norway. The nearest hospital is one hour away. I'm not pregnant yet, so I don't know when I would be giving birth, but the winters here get cold, and the roads are winding through fjords and mountains. I have looked up midwives in the area - none would help with a home birth (which I want for personal safety, comfort and belief reasons as well as practicality). I will see if I can find a doula, but it looks like they don't exist in this region either (only 2% of Norway's population lives in this county) - let alone one that would attend a birth without a midwife. My options then, are to have a well-scheduled hospital birth anyway (my last option, actually), MOVE temporarily to a bigger city to give birth (and then move back with a newborn... ugh) ...or have an unattended home birth. It really sucks, because I would prefer to have a hands-off midwife or doula nearby, and emergency services within reasonable distance, but I live by a town of 7k people where there are no such options.

There is a new study from Sweden that shows the spiked protein enters the cells nucleus and inhibits DNA repair. This causes cell death or cell cancer. There are other studies that show that the spiked protein crosses the placental barrier. This vaccine is not safe for anyone, especially pregnant women.
