Chess clocks add too much difficulty to the game vs how much luck it removes. The game should be hard, but not so hard that you’re not having fun and your stressed out by external factors. This isn’t to say the game should be easy, but a chess clock throws off that balance for too many people, and is a huge barrier to entry when we need more people to play. Stricter time limits for turns are likely better because it signals that a game can’t go on forever but doesn’t add this extra external factor that distracts and potentially takes a player out of the game. At worst a player loses their turn.

For the chess clock discussion one of the core disagreements we (me and Mons) have is that playing it in a real cutthroat setting is different from how we tested it. We still tested it in a kinda laid back fashion. So I disagree with Mons saying that "this isn't a problem we tested this" because we did not try to actually exploit the system and there was alot of good will in the games
