The sensible increase of Wooden Biomass in Europe (including in Italy) is a valuable energy source and it need to be properly used to also improve ambient and hydrogeological soil risks.

Very nice video, except that at minute 1:07-1:16, there is a mystake, what is released by the plant for respiration, is Oxygen, while the carbon parts remain trapped into the plant itself. Love the part with the house, showing the difference between CO2 cycle coming from forest and the one from fossil fuel. But in general, very good one!

Is EN Plus a mandatory requirement for wood pellet exports? If in this case, country A is part of Europe, which mostly uses EN Plus wood pellets, then is there one of the importers who imports wood pellets that are not EN-Plus? is that possible? Will there be sanctions for both importers and exporters

We shouldn't be burning biomass at all. For one, it is killing for biodiversity. Last month the UN published a report that a million species are on the edge of becoming extinct and the logging and burning of woody biomass is a massive accelerator for this process. Last year’s statistics of the World Health Organization show that 4.2 million people a year die from particulate pollution which biomass burning causes. Burning biomass causes 400 percent more particulate pollution than burning coal does. This video is MISLEADING as it hides the fact that sawdust from sawmills is a limited resource & in need by CHIPBOARD and medium-density fiber plate industries! The ENplus certfication is driving furnace manufacturers in the wrong direction and erroneously focuses to much on ASH percentage. Therefore a broader raw material basis beyond sawdust is prevented in the pellets industry.

the key for peace in the middle east, the energy transition away from fossil fuels and one future pillar in renewable energy besides WIND and PV. Hopefully the carbon tax will come - then biomass will soar towards a global standard.

Excellent report - Mdme Langue is a great presenter! So much more engaging than those long, serious, droning, monotonic, humorless doublespeak lectures from typical starchy, arrogant CEOs. Now that AEBIOM has a strong base, it should put the biomass house in order. In particular, it should disown and discredit some of the less reputable practices, such as the use of North American supplies for a large British coal station. This would benefit sustainable, within-EU sources that make good use of otherwise waste materials and restore the reputation that biomass deserves.

Which is outright falsehood and actually hurts the environment with your lack of transparency. You depleted the foliage in your own country due to lax laws, and are now trying to take any timber in the USA you can buy. Which funnily enough even red conservative states like Alabama have strict timber and tree laws.
