Making the bed hotter can help. I have the Qidi Q1 pro and use a bed of 95C instead of 90C for ABS.

Nice review! I have mine on order - should arrive this week... One question though, how bad were the fumes when you were printing a plate full of ABS parts?
@theclintified
@theclintified 5 сағат бұрын
I could smell it at first, because they don't tell you in the instructions you have a plastic baggy around the little carbon filter. If you take that off, its not bad at all. I'm using standard ABS so I was surprised at how much that little charcoal baggy helped.

Did you know The Wonders of Grass: Nature’s Ubiquitous Gift Grass, though often overlooked in favor of more majestic trees or vibrant flowers, is one of the most vital and versatile components of our natural world. Found on every continent, grass blankets the Earth in a sea of green, contributing to ecosystems, supporting human life, and shaping the very landscapes we inhabit. Its unassuming appearance belies its remarkable resilience, ecological significance, and cultural impact. The Biology and Resilience of Grass Grass belongs to the Poaceae family, which includes over 12,000 species, ranging from the expansive savannas of Africa to the neatly trimmed lawns in suburban neighborhoods. What makes grass extraordinary is its adaptability. It thrives in diverse environments, from tropical rainforests to arid deserts, and even tundras. Grass possesses unique biological traits that allow it to endure harsh conditions. Its root systems grow deep into the soil, anchoring the plant while preventing erosion. Many grasses also grow from the base rather than the tip, enabling them to recover quickly after being grazed by animals or mowed by humans. This characteristic makes them an essential food source for herbivores and a reliable ground cover for human-managed landscapes. The Ecological Role of Grass Grass plays a pivotal role in maintaining ecological balance. Its dense roots stabilize soil, reducing erosion and preserving the land’s fertility. Grasslands, such as prairies and savannas, act as carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and helping mitigate climate change. Moreover, grasslands support an incredible diversity of life, providing habitats for countless species of insects, birds, and mammals. In aquatic environments, seagrasses perform a similar function. Found in shallow coastal waters, these underwater meadows filter water, protect shorelines from erosion, and serve as breeding grounds for marine life. Whether on land or underwater, grass is a cornerstone of life, sustaining ecosystems and biodiversity. Grass and Human Civilization For humans, grass has been both a practical and symbolic resource throughout history. Agricultural grasses, such as wheat, rice, and corn, are staples of the global diet and form the foundation of many economies. These crops have fed civilizations for millennia, enabling the rise of cities and societies. Beyond agriculture, grass holds cultural significance. Lawns, for instance, have become a symbol of prosperity and leisure in many parts of the world. Grassy fields host sports events, concerts, and picnics, bringing people together in shared spaces. Even the sight and scent of freshly cut grass evoke feelings of nostalgia and connection to nature. Challenges and the Future of Grass Despite its resilience, grass faces threats in the modern world. Urbanization, deforestation, and climate change are reducing natural grasslands, endangering the species that depend on them. Overgrazing by livestock and monoculture farming also degrade the health of grass ecosystems, leading to soil depletion and loss of biodiversity. To safeguard grasslands, conservation efforts are essential. Practices such as sustainable grazing, reforestation, and the protection of native species can help maintain the health of these vital ecosystems. Additionally, innovations like artificial turf, though controversial, provide alternatives for spaces where natural grass struggles to thrive. Conclusion Grass is far more than just a common plant underfoot; it is a symbol of life, adaptability, and connection. From its ecological importance to its role in human history, grass is a testament to the beauty and resilience of the natural world. Protecting and appreciating this humble yet extraordinary plant is a small but significant step toward preserving the planet for future generations.

When a cow has problems delivering a calf do you breed her again or is that a done deal?
@theclintified
@theclintified 15 күн бұрын
I guess it all depends on whats going on during delivery. She doesn't dilate like she is supposed to. We've tried to keep her from breeding but she eventually had another (3rd) from a low birth weight bull and did much better.

That poor mama, you really should be selective on the bulls you choose to breed with her. A calf puller would be a great investment.
@theclintified
@theclintified 24 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right, she is a terrible calver and this was a fluke throw from a Low Line I had to get rid of due to that problem. As far as a puller, I didn't want to use and brute force methods because the calf was so big and we didn't have any vet available. That would have been a much worse situation than losing the calf. But we managed and it all worked out in the end.

This is a really cool project! I’m a retired machinist and have a small shop in my garage and would like to offer you some help if you need it. Like Teflon bushings for the wire tension or maybe a better shaft to hold the bobbin so that it doesn’t slip. Let me know if you’re interested and we can discuss any parts that you may need. Ben

Cool a velvet mite (AKA Rain Bug) these guys usually come out after a rain. The adults are harmless and eat other insects and their eggs. However the larvae are the devil, we know them as chiggers. They are actually a member of the arachnid family.

Don't be fooled. These inverters use the same exact design and components that's found in cheap Harbor Freight inverters. The only difference is that the manufacturer has added the inverter's PCB into a much larger, heavier gauge metal box to give the appearance of a heavier duty product and have added an MPPT circuit and a few low cost circuit breakers. They still offer shorter life expectancies, far poorer surge capacities, are overpriced, and because they lack an output transformer, they can easily damage your appliances or EV. No thanks!
@theclintified
@theclintified Ай бұрын
I've bad these up now for a couple of years and haven't had any issues with them, I do have an upgraded inverter that I'll eventually be installing in place of them but for now they've done a great job for the price. I think I will use these in my shop eventually. Not bad at all for the price but really not designed for our grid system. What system do you have set up?

Is the AutoTransformer for the PV in? I was just thinking that with those 2 growatt you have 2 110v legs and can use those 2 legs in the main panel for your 220v. Not trying to be snarky, I just don't understand.
@theclintified

They are 220 units and need the autotransformer to create the neutral for 110v.

The only structure holding up the walls and keeping the shape is some thin sheet metal, no firebreaks, 24inch centers without any sheathing. I don't know how you can justify thin metal exterior as sheathing. This is from a longer video listed in the link on the short.
