i just got a kitten it’s about 6 weeks old i have a clean litter box and everytime its done drinking milk i put him in the litter box and i tap his back w warm paper towel but he doesn’t pee or litters in the box but whenever he is on his own he would pee and litter in the corner outside of the box. What do i do

Something about the litter box is either smelling wrong or there is something in the room that is causing anxiety. Also consider how high profile the litter box is. Can he climb in on his own? I say this because I just recently had this problem and was able to solve it asking these questions. Cats are picky about strange smells and they have to feel safe using it. Some like open litter boxes while others don’t. No two cats are the same so definitely observe their behavior and the surroundings. If they feel threatened they will mark territory and males are the worst about this but don’t put it past the females either. I’ve seen them do it too. If the litter has a perfume smell consider litter that doesn’t. I had this problem too. I hope this helps. Good luck and don’t give up!❤

@@Misozpawszz unfortunately it wasn't my cat. My friend found the baby near her house, and it kept crying after a whole day. I offered to help took care of it (which I ended up leaving it on vet's care since I'm busy with campus related things). Sadly though, it passed away bc of internal issues.

soak the butt in warm water and do belly massage. try the triangle technique(can search in youtube) do repeatedly gently. if the kitten didnt poop u can try the session again later... this will help to soften the stool that stuck inside. ..

cats are very vulnerable when they are showing their bellies and they only show them to people who they trust so bond with her a bit maybe hand feed her to makee trust :)
