My high school productions had a budget of 35 cents and was an oasis of all the school's outcasts, talent or not. These kids are really lucky. Great production and real talent!

one of the songs [the travel song] is extremely hard bc donkey and Shrek singing over each other [they are singing all at once] so at my school whenever they practise the travel song, they get confused, and are pathetic [one of the music teachers words] so she had to call a emergency choir meeting. saying that we need to sing it with them [im a soprano] and the altos have to sing shrek's part, the sopranos sing donkey's part, and i suck myself, so BIG credit to donkey and shrek in this school's production

I am currently on my shrek the musical hyper fixation arc and this has to be one of the best high school renditions. In all honesty in my most humble opinion this can surely rival the Broadway version. Absolutely beautiful and every single cast member is talented and glowing!

Sure, Broadway has budgets for sets, production values...strip it away and it is all about talent. Every one of these young people have talent beyond belief! I loved it.

Okay but when the actor for Sweeney Todd first sang, it blew my MIND WOW!

I guess a great deal of that is due to the fact that Sweeney is interpreted by a real bariton, even a bass-baritone. Low male voices are so rare in musical theatre that even parts that are written for baritones or basses, such as Sweeney and judge Turpin, are often interpreted by tenors, many of which, by nature, don't have the necessary sonority in the low register, not mentioning the fact that their timbre is much brighter than what the composer intended.
