Really enjoying this Sth Pacific and New Zealand series Gabe, thank you We have always been told in the UK that unlike Australia, New Zealand has a very similar climate to here the UK and that is why a number of Brits settled there. Hoping to visit myself in a couple of years

Your video sums up my feelings that Auckland should be a great place to be, but isn't as somehow it is lacking something. It's like it has all the right ingredients, but just lacks the right recipe.

In Auckland one of the highlights is going to Rangitoto island and walking to summit, or at least it was when i was young maybe not allowed now. Its the perfect volcano in the harbour mostly scoria with trees gaining a foothold, Auckland is a volcano city built on numerous volcanoes that have been active quite recently

Kiwi is strictly only a bird. Kiwi is also marketing for the Chinese gooseberry fruit and slang for a New Zealander person. Like Gringo is for americanos.
@grahamcook92892 сағат бұрын
Auckland like San Franciso! R U kidding me man? Have you been to SF recently? It's like a post apocalyptic wasteland! As an americano you should be ashamed that the richest country in the world allows this to happen. It's a sad indictment of the true state of the American dream. Namely a nightmare, if not one of the super rich. I was only there for a few hours, but saw enough to know I would never want to go back there again.

When you travel on budget and want to make a cruise you can book passages on cargo ships. Some companies offer cabins on these ships. It is not very comfortable and you eat with the crew. Maybe you are invited to the captains table like on big cruise ships. You can find interesting routes like london to new york in winter on a stormy atlantik or something mediternian like marseile to alexandria. I googled a little bit and found the Aranui 5. It is a combined cargo and cruise ship for french polynesia and brings supplies to small polynesian island. It starts in tahiti and goes to Tahiti > Fakarava > Nuku Hiva > Ua Pou > Ua Huka > Hiva Oa > Fata Hiva > Rangiroa > Bora Bora > Tahiti And don´t miss the ship! The next one comes in 3 month! ;-)

Hi Gabriel, Good to see you are in my part of the world, I live by Sanctuary Mountain near Cambridge,. I think you would really enjoy going to Raglan on the west coast, continuing south after Raglan there is Waitomo caves, you have to check out Rotorua of course and Taupo, which are both geothermic regions, in Rotorua there is the Polynesian spa pools, very beautiful place by the lake, the adult pavilion pools have 7 natural mineral pools from acidic to alkaline, nice thing to do in the evening at sunset. It is a bit expensive though, so the option for package deals, even through the polynesian spa, where you get entrance to the Maori village, meals and entertainment might be an option. In the Taupo region, there is a place called Wairakei terraces and thermal health spa, which is a lot cheaper and well worth the money and is amazing, also Craters of the Moon, also not expensive. There is the river with hot spots too for a soak, there is a lot to see and do in Rotorua and Taupo, they are our tourist centres in the North Island. If you do go to Raglan there are some cool airbnb's it is a special place too, lots of great eateries, very beautiful beaches, famous surf breaks, black sand and a cool town vibe. Enjoy your time in New Zealand. Kia Ora from Aotearoa.

I would skip the north island , at this time of year everything is crowded and extortionate. They will charge 50$ just to pitch a tent, the south island is less crowded and more wild scenery.

Haha, sounds like Siri or Alexa, here they give piss poor info so do not trust them. Our local area they tell people to go on a road that has a river cutting across it!. You cannot drive through to the other side, you simply have to go around the long way. I get tourists ringing they are lost and cant get across. Another spot is they tell drivers to take a lesser road, winding up and around a steep gravel road, yet you should to stay on the main state highway 2 sealed road which leads to the main town and further. Stop at any i-site and get the free maps in case google or Siri sends you wonky.😊

The cruise ship "Diamond Princess" shown in the video is infamous, as it was quarantined due to Covid right at the beginning of the outbreak, in February of 2020. The ship was quarantined for nearly a month with her passengers on board. HBO produced a documentary about it called "The Last Cruise" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Cruise). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_Princess_(ship)

🦇🦇🦇🦇Kiwi (/ˈkiːwiː/ KEE-wee)[4] are flightless birds endemic to New Zealand of the order Apterygiformes. Apparently they're called kiwi fruits, using the word fruit to distinguish from the bird.
@NowInIwoNСағат бұрын
Aha. Well, then I suppose this sorts out all the confusion most neatly. It does leave one glaring question tho, could one raise kiwis on kiwi fruits and if so would Kiwis eat the kiwis that were fed kiwis? Fruits that is...???
