I notice that a lot of the street vendor women wear pajamas, even during the day. Could you get to the bottom of this. Anyways, good footage.
@travelingfrogmanКүн бұрын
I think this is normal traditional clothing, I did a lot of exploring Cambodia outside the tourist zone, and many women with the same garb. Thank you very much for watching my video. I truly appreciate it.
@meganseang3745Күн бұрын
😂😂😂 I am Cambodian/ Khmer but live in the US. So this is modern day daily wear not the actual traditional clothes. What the ladies used to wear is the sarongs which Indonesians also wear too and a few other countries. But the pajamas look-alike is brought on my Chinese and Vietnamese traditions I think. However, they are made to wear as a day wear and not as a pj. If that makes sense to you. It helps the women daily works much more at ease and comfortable versus the sarong. I on the other hand, can’t see myself in one of these outfits. NO! I will not be caught death in it. 😂

I think it's just easy to work and run errands in. The temperature in SE Asia can get pretty hot, so the light fabric help to keep them cool.

I plan on having fun finding out more details on all the specific types of fish, dishes, etc that are served. I had those little clams in Singapore. They call them cackles. Thanks for sharing.

A nice selection of foods and snacks that I love as well. I think the chicken (or other meat ) amok is supposed to be steamed in the banana leaves to achieve the authentic flavors. My friend says that’s how it is traditionally made, and it was once only a special cuisine for the Royal King and his Royal family members. I love their palm cakes as well. There are so many delicious Cambodian authentic snacks, foods, and desserts. A lot of them are in thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, and most people think that it’s theirs when it originates in Cambodia since ancient times.
@travelingfrogmanКүн бұрын
Yes, I have had Amok several times in various restaurants around Siem Reap and all of them serve it in traditional banana leaf. I just love the authentic spices, my go to food while traveling Cambodia 🇰🇭
@LilyCorowskyКүн бұрын
@ @ They should be steamed in banana leaves and not stir fried because that is more authentic. A lot of times, they stir fry it or fry it to save time but those have a different flavor to them, which are not as good as the steamed ones in banana leaves. They are all good, but the other ones are better. Oh, and you need to try the palm cakes (that’s what I meant, not banana cakes ☺️). The ones in Preah Dak Village in Siem reap are popular and are the best in the world. They have coconut custard in them. Happy Eating!
@travelingfrogmanКүн бұрын
@LilyCorowsky Thank you very much for your comments 😊 Yes, this little roadside restaurant was very simple, but was surprised Amok was not authentic as what you would is found in most khmer restaurants in town, not bad but lacked much authentic spices. I will try those palm cakes !thank you for food tips I truly appreciate it.

The tuktuk ride looks fun. The pupper decided to take the tour with you. I like that the place is relatively accessible. I think I could get my walker all the way in there even with the stairs. 😀 There were some smaller holes in some of the rocks. I wonder what they were for. The carvings are amazing and there’s so many of them. It’s just so lush and green over there. It’s coming winter here so I will be watching lots of “warm weather” video’s. Have a great time.

The Tuk Tuk ride is all part of travel experience that's why I like to add it. The temples for the most part are easy to get around but there are some challenging areas also. I have many more temple adventures coming.
