So big. It used to be an Under Armor store until Target renovated it. This was formally an Otis Series 7, but it got taken out and replaced with a MEI.

Interesting that this elevator has the newer Gen3 fixtures, as well as the voice announcer system, even though it's hydraulic. Also, of these Otis digital lanterns, which do you like better? The Gen2 lantern (derived from Series-1 with the arrow), or the Gen3 lantern (the newer version)?

Now and then I think of when we were together Like when you said you felt so happy you could die Told myself that you were right for me But felt so lonely in your company But that was love, and it's an ache I still remember You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness Like resignation to the end, always the end So when we found that we could not make sense Well, you said that we would still be friends But I'll admit that I was glad it was over But you didn't have to cut me off Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing And I don't even need your love But you treat me like a stranger, and that feels so rough No, you didn't have to stoop so low Have your friends collect your records and then change your number I guess that I don't need that, though Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over But had me believing it was always something that I'd done And I don't wanna live that way Reading into every word you say You said that you could let it go And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know But you didn't have to cut me off Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing (aah-ooh) And I don't even need your love (ooh) But you treat me like a stranger, and that feels so rough (aah) No, you didn't have to stoop so low (ooh) Have your friends collect your records and then change your number (aah) I guess that I don't need that, though Now you're just somebody that I used to know Somebody (I used to know) Somebody (now you're just somebody that I used to know) Somebody (I used to know) Somebody (now you're just somebody that I used to know) I used to know That I used to know I used to know Somebody

The plywood would indicate this is probably considered to have been converted to a materials lift/VRC rather than an elevator (although I didn't see any "no riders" signs, unless they are there and I didn't see them). Be aware that depending on what state this is in, this may NOT be getting any inspections, in which case, RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK. The 2 counterweights may indicate a winding drum machine with separate car/drum counterweights (1 counterweight connected directly to the car, the other directly to the winding drum). This setup may be unusual though, usually the 2 counterweights would run in the same guide rails one above the other I think.
@railroadelevators9258 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I've never seen anything like that before. I would've loved to see the machine room for this elevator, but sadly, it was on the roof and I didn't have the guts to ask about it :(
@EWPA14 Жыл бұрын
I think most if not all tiller-line elevators are winding-drum, at least from what I've seen. I may or may not have heard of the 2 counter-weights thing w/ it, not really sure. It is unusual nonetheless.
@upanddownadventures Жыл бұрын
@@EWPA14 I think many of the 1920s pull rope elevators (and some from the 1910s) are actually traction. One example that comes to mind is the S.Heller pull rope elevator that ElevatorsOfLakeCounty found (which had a traction machine).
@railroadelevators9258 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m not sure if this was winding drum or not. Not sure when the building was built either, but it is definitely newer than the non-electric S Heller I saw. (rip that thing :( ) And yes there was a “no riders” sign but I RODE IT ANYWAYS!
