Great Video. As I've gotten faster on track, I have noticed the front wheel getting light on track. As it comes down, I felt a slight wobble. Some guys mentioned the R7 front being so light that it probably doesn't need a damper. Regardless, I know I go slower than I normally would through those areas. I looked at an Ohlins, but it was 200+ dollars. The option you obtained seems like it will fit the bill and you mentioned it working well. Thanks for the R7 reviews. It definitely helps. BTW, what exhaust are you using? I'm looking at an exhaust upgrade as well. I know it won't add HP, but I like hearing the engine sound on track as it helps to let me know when to shift. Currently, the stock exhaust is just too quiet.

I have gotten false neutrals going from 3rd to 4th, but I have gotten those couple of seconds on 5th before it goes down to 6th. I usually try to shift to 5th pretty positively so it'll stay there. It doesn't always work, and more often than not the times I am going on 5th at track speeds I can even shift up to 6th specially if it's a not-so-straight away. So I don't know what the solution may be... On the other hand!! There aren't many better things that chasing a 600cc or 1000cc rider down the corners, kinda letting them go on the straights, and passing them on the brakes like they are standing still. Hi Michael, The front tire wear not matching the rear tire wear is totally normal. To wear the front tire to the edge, you need to brake in corners more ! I dont know what experience you have on track but slicks are close to impossible to get to temp with the r7. You will need tire warmers for sure or that could be really dangerous Consider Power Cups 2 wich are basically slicks with DOT threads, and much easier to get to temp. Dunlop tires are a nightmare temprature-wise, i sold my set of D212 Soft because they where far too hard to get to temp on my restricted R7 Just consider trail braking a bit more and a bit harder to get that nice front tire wear. And be careful with that new rear tire !
@mikeyjaxxx2 ай бұрын
Hi, I don’t normally talk about it all the time but I raced for nearly 5 years, so yes you could say I have good track experience 😉 I have warmers too, and will soon have the matching front slick setup too. Trail braking was how I made my time up on track being a heavier rider, so I could trail and out brake most people to the apex. In my recent track experience with the R7 I talk about how the front end of the standard bike needs a lot of work cause at the moment that’s where I’m unable to get the most out of me and the bike. I’m aware the tire wear I’m seeing is normal for street tires, but having used pirelli supercorsa tires in the past I know I didn’t get close to the edge of those tires even elbow dragging, and that’s what I want going forward. Appreciate your comments though and I will be taking my time to get used to the slicks 👍

@mikeyjaxxx2 ай бұрын
The front paddock pin is 20mm. I’m modifying mine as I can’t remove the front wheel without needing to remove the mudguard! Yes I did a small mod to remove material from my brake lever, where it activates the brake light switch, that helped get a little more angle combined with removing material from the banjo bolt area, the tab that forces the banjo to be in “factory” position I removed altogether so I could rotate the banjo more.
