For $2,200 you can have the P.O.F. 415 EDGE piston driven rifle , and guess what it comes in either black or F.D.E. God forbid the people at H&K ever think of that. As the owner of the previous MR556 and the P.O.F. I find H&K frankly annoying, all the latest upgrades the MR556 A4 now comes with should of been on the previous version, they had plenty of years to do this. The lack of the F.D.E. finish and RAL8000 parts is just ridiculous and for some unknown reason it seems deliberate. H&K knows to well that the civilian market craves the RAL 8000 set up G28 look, some go to great lengths to mimic this. So why oh why does H&K not see and listen to customers. And I'm a H&K fan boy.

You are the only guy id ask this question cause i know you got some pull at hk.. can you please tell them we want the hk mr762a4 pistol and i know its to late but a qd rail lever like the german a6. Also mabey an option to buy the a4 models with german hk iron sights i understand it would boost the cost up another 500 but some of us will pay for the real german iron sights. Hi Derek, Question, RTG parts has an updated buffer for the 93/53. It has a "pin/nipple/button" that looks slightly longer and has a circular section that protrudes out. Do you recommend that over the standard/old school buffer thats interchangeable with the 91?

Is the 9 mm conversion barrel slightly heavier? Might be a cool test.

I've been trying to find info everywhere. I know it's not chrome lined but is it nitrided or does it have some sort of other corrosion-resistant finish? I'm genuinely curious and not looking to argue about whether it's necessary or whatever or if the barrel is good.

Thanks for info on this rifle. I have an A1 and mulling over an A4. The old want vs need. That said, having always stuck with high-end firearms has been positive for me. For the few I’ve sold, I’ve always gotten good money for them.

The thing I really like about the A4 is the updated parts catalog. I think the A1 is my pick, but I do want the charging handle and oversized bolt catch.

The chrome lining really only matters to cloners. I’ll take a highly accurate barrel with HK’s lifetime warranty all day.

What I find so telling about the new A4; is the internet comment section completely showing how little they understand barrels. I have two AR’s that will actually shoot ten shot 1.0 moa groups…. Neither one is chrome lined 😂 the MR is NOT the 416, it’s just not.

Thanks for gas lighting us. For a >$3k AR variant in 5.56 NATO, the barrel should be chrome lined. Period. Marvin Pitts has a vendor, as does Geissele. One could eat humble pie and ask Marty Daniel for help due to the messed up importation laws. MR556s are not Recce or match rifles. 3% chromium in the steel does not confer easier cleaning or improved corrosion resistance. Yes, the steel is great, but there are near equivalent alternatives. I read the HK USA posts on HK Pro. I agree with everything they said except the barrel lining issue. Happy Thanksgiving
