I wasn't born during these times I was born in the 80s but these times just look so much better and peaceful they almost bring a tear to my glass eye one thing I noticed is how well kept the roads are and how clear the road markings are where did we go wrong

Love this song. The first time I heard it was in the Star Trek The Next Generation episode “The Wounded” when Miles O’Brien and Captain Maxwell sing it in his ready room.

As someone who has been walking, cycling & driving green lanes or byways for 30 years, it’s of no surprise the Horse rider can’t just say ‘Thank You’ & carry on, has to have the last word & take the moral high ground. Prime example of pompousness. That said, it is a very British exchange.

The surface of this lane has deteriorated significantly at the N end and the rider does not get to the end of the legal lane. Where he turns round you can see the lane continues as a grassy single track. It is still legal to the next gate (not very far and not much turning room there, but perhaps the best bit of the ride!)

I find it odd that the elderly pedestrians had to get up on the hillside because the horse riders stayed in the middle as if they had right of way. Personally I'm of the opinion that horse riders should show the same kind of respect to other users. Seem horse riders are the cyclists of the pathways.

Yeah Herbury Lane where Simon James got a young kid killed in 1980 riding on the back of his tractor pulling a 5 ton roller. Poor kid never got to live his life!😢

Why did you stop at the gate at the end of the s to n ride of this, the sign said the byway continued!? I have seen the bit where it comes out at the watermill theatre where there is a sign that says byway, but also another one saying unsuitable for vehicles and it starts by going over a tiny bridge under 2ft wide across a wide river!?

I used to ride horses, a well schooled horse with a competent, confident rider would not be a problem if you started your engine or even get riding. I find the sense of entitlement hard to comprehend.

Worth noting that the track you travel along at the 1:20 mark is actually Bridleway. Not sure what the situation was when this was originally filmed though.

This is disgusting from an equestrian rider. All horses and humans must wear high-hives to be seen. 😢 Am acho saddened most equestrian riders don't think about them and there horses.. Hats 🎩 off to the ones that wore high-hiv equipment ❤ xxx

What a splendid bit of film. If this film was today 2024 there would be major road rage and that Jaguar mark 2 would probably be speeding at top speed and end up on its roof, pure carnage..
