Lots of lovely moments by a classic campfire... and who doesn't like sausage, with a side of sausage? Lovely sounds, sights and relaxing moments. The sweet whoosh of a Coleman stove is magical, thank you for sharing a second night with us. It was from an earlier vid of yours, but I also have a craving for Nutter Butters and jelly now. xD What a gorgeous place!

Ohhhh I’m stealing that dip recipe…. By the way those pine nuts are over 22.00 / lbs…. Mix the pine nuts with basil, olive oil, garlic, salt and Parmesan cheese…. Pesto sauce! Delicious stuff! Add to noodles & chicken…. Omg good! Kai loves to dig in sand! Wow hilarious! Keep em coming!

Yeah that cheese dip was crazy good! Kai is a real digger, that's for sure. He digs everywhere! I had no idea the pine nuts were that expensive. it sounds like a great recipe for them as well. Ill have to try that someday!

Your videos are excellent. That's very beautiful country up there and I know our Husky would love to dig holes and find rocks and roll around in the choice dirt alongside Kai (and find lots and lots of shade lol). I really like your setup and all the work you've done to make it cozy--for the budget, it's really kind of amazing! a great mix of relaxation, sightseeing, humor, some how-to, and lots of doggo. <3 Keep going and looking for those cool horizons!

I appreciate your kind words, it really means a lot! 👍 You summed up my whole goal with this channel perfectly. What is your huskys name?
@vald80826 күн бұрын
@@TheBrokecamper4570 Kanoa (Hawaiian for the free one, free spirit) and he's a big boy, 2 1/2 years old, one blue eye + one brown, very woolly gray coat and as sweet as can be. He doesn't talk/sing/howl all that much but, when he does, it's in this ridiculous (for a Siberian) baritone. And like me, he likes fish (my spouse does not xD)! Huskies are optimists: there has GOT to be something good in this hole / shrub / rotted stump etc. if I just keep going. Not the worst philosophy tbh. Looking forward to your next adventure, and oh boy do I want beer cheese dip now x9
@TheBrokecamper457025 күн бұрын
I love that name for your Husky! He sounds a lot like Kai. Except Kai is a loud talker! I had a Husky before, Kinley, and she was a sweetheart. Great temperment, didn't talk that much and only 'aroooo'd when something was weird - like a deflated balloon in a backyard tree, lol. I got that on film and she was so spooked by it! But she passed away before she was even 4 years old - brain tumor. I was gutted and I still am. I knew I'd get another Husky someday, but the opportunity for another came a lot sooner than I expected. I got Kai in April of last year so he's a little over 1.5 years. I never had a male dog before and they are - different! He is constantly go go go, wants to chase everything, he thinks I'm his litter mate etc.! But, he really saved my life. My channel name, The Broke Camper is half because I'm broke and half because I had a broken back after a couple auto accidents - one in 2016 and another in 2019. I eventually had to have major disc surgery at 25. Afterward, I did walk Kinley, but when she passed away, I stopped doing those daily walks and my sciatic pain was returning. I was devastated. But along came Kai with his limitless energy and he took me on 2, 3 mile walks a day, and I don't have that pain any longer. I can do all the things a guy my age should be able to do including going to the gym! And camping... while I was in my room, in agonizing pain, the only thing that I could do is watch videos. I couldn't sit up in a chair and was pretty much bed-bound. So, I watched videos of other people camping. and I swore that if I ever got better, I was going to do that too. I recovered with Kai's help and began modifying the cap to be a DIY tiny 'apartment'. Then, started camping and it's been so worth it. Thank you so much for your comment and being a friend! Oh, and if I ever get another Husky to add to my pack, I will keep the K names going and name him/her Kanoa, if you don't mind!
@vald80824 күн бұрын
@@TheBrokecamper4570 Of course you can! And thank you for the added context, I had no idea you suffered through so much... I have thrown my back a few times and dealt with sciatic pain, swelling, gout... you don't need me to tell you that it is the literal worst. We have had three huskies -- London, Hoku and Kanoa -- and they are instrumental to staying active (especially when we think it is cold and miserable out). Real life savers! I'm so glad for you, and hope you stay healthy and keep expanding your mobility and horizons. I wish our husky pals lived as long as we do, and losing one is a grief few people really understand, I feel. But I can't imagine life without one now. And that's a good thing! Incidentally, in Hawaiian, Kai means a leader or, more specifically, "to lead, direct, lift up and carry; to walk or step in a row or procession, or as a child learning to walk; to come dancing out before an audience; the chant during which dancers appear and leave; to train, as for racing." You did perfectly xD

Just wanted to chime in and say how much enjoy your videos....I don't always comment but I am here for every minute. Your style of camping is more realistic to the majority of us and shows you don't need to be super fancy to have a great experience. I really like your "day hangout tent/truck bedroom concept". Really cool and smart. Also love the 'calm' editing style. Keep up the great work 👍

I did not really feel any of the altitude sickness symptoms other than a bit of shortness of breath when Kai would take me on a walk. Being born and raised in Colorado helps a bit I imagine. My normal daily altitude is about 6,000 Ft. But did not really notice any difference overall, thanks for watching!

The curtains are a simple velcro stick on the wall of the camper, and then i stapled the other velcro side to my thick fabric cut to the window size. Then i roll them up, and a velcro strip looped from the back keeps them tight.
