I really hope they are going for something at least akin to a redemption arc for Daemon. He might have been a badass while doing it, but he has quite a few blunders to make up for. But I think, these visions at least show that he does have the capability to change and own up to his actions. Wich I personally love to see, even if its never fully realized within the story. I think the best version of Daemon would be a blend between both season 1 and season 2 Daemon. Cold badass when he interacts with his enemies/subordinates or fights, but more vulnerable when he's alone with his thoughts or when he interacts with characters he shares a bond with; Rhaenyra and his children especially.

No , most likely the three crickets represent the 3 riderless dragons at Dragonstone: Vermithor , Silwerwing and Seasmoke. The singing represent that they sing to the dragons to bring them out of ther lair and the fact that one stopped singing indicates that one dragon finally now has a rider (seasmoke bonded with Addam of hull, the Velaryon bastard)

My guesses are 1. Aegon. I noticed that his dragon sings which I love. Also, it's a cricket or grasshopper in the cage. Only males chirp. It was "strange" to her. My 2nd guess is Alicient. Singing can deal with the voice. Her voice was recently taken. And when Mysaria shared her history after Alicient ask about Otto, I felt like there was a connection there. Otto used Alicient & once the seed took root, he left her there to die.

Personally i think it’s supposed to be about Aegon. It’s not about the bugs singing but rather how they sing. They use their back legs. With a broken back leg no longer allowing them to sing… how could that not be about Aegon? It’s the same episode we find out Aegons leg won’t heal properly. The actress said in a season 1 after the episode interview that she sees visions of the past and future. Not sure if the same episode really counts as the “past” but it’s not the first time she spoke about bug legs. In season one she said “the last ring has no legs at all” suggesting Aegon will be the last claimant alive with no use of his legs. Other than that then maybe it represents the dragons Vermithor, Silverwing and Seasmoke? Seasmoke has stopped singing and calling for a rider unlike the other two caged dragons (parallel the other two singing bugs).

Interesting, I don’t know if they’d kill Daeron right when we meet him.
