Thanks. It's from an old book that I found helpful many years ago, and have re read a few times since. I had already discovered his translations (more a sort of paraphrase) of the New Testament Epistles as a boy, which were a nice complement to the Authorized Version of the Bible I was brought up on. I don't entirely endorse all of Phillips' ideas, but I do find him particularly helpful in this little book.

It's good to hear from you Terpsi. Hope you're enjoying Summer. Actually, this is a new one, but I am aware that it contains the same kinds of images I have used before. I am a creature of habit, and the same themes and images recur on my evening walks in the country, such that often I am really just sort of re working them in my newer work. I guess if I ever do organize a compilation, I could set some companion pieces side by side.

If only Christianity could withstand believing the obvious truth that scripture must have a single author, it would not have fallen into polytheism and idolatry....
@anselman31563 ай бұрын
I don't understand what you mean to say. To Christianity, it is an obvious truth, to be upheld, not "withstood", that Holy Scripture ultimately has God as its Author, God having inspired various men in their writing of it. It is those who deny that truth, and denigrate Holy Scripture as only the invention of men, who tend towards false religion, polytheism and idolatry.

@@anselman3156 I didn't put the tri in trinity. Just denying what is plain for anyone to see and murdering people who point it out doesn't work anymore. Which is why very few Christians even know what the trinity is much less actually believe in anything that Christian theologians would say is not heretical. It is not malicious to point out that you are a polytheist. It is the last I can do before you assign your soul to eternal regret.
@anselman31563 ай бұрын
@@faturechi You are not engaging with the reasoning of the Christian doctrine of the one true God which is explained in several of my videos. You seem just concerned to hurl ignorant abuse. I pray that you will come to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation.

So I am recording in shorter sections, perhaps three for each of the eight lectures. So it will be a lengthy project for me. I hope that it will have some interesting and enjoyable things for you. Feel free to comment on any things that stand out for you.
