I have been saying this for years! We urgently need it. Not only an underground rail network, also a tunnel or two to help with the increasing traffic in the CBD. I hope they do it!

Adelaide will need a subway, one day, considerations in the submissions should be given to: a free dual city loop that centres in Vic Sq. It should go up Grote and Flinders st and around the Terraces. Lines should run from the foothills to the city, straight up the Parade and Kensington road, connect in the city loop stations, then have lines that travel west down Henley and SDB. That would cover a large majority of the current and future population. But it won't happen. Why? Too expensive.

The lodge isn't actually built on the beach it is built on a cliff above the beach. I have been there twice already, and it is a wonderful place to stay.

I ALWAYS insist that EVERYTHING I buy at Woolie's or COle's is first offloaded from interstate trucks onto trams (or the O-bus) and then brought to the individual stores (of course I PAY 2-5 times as much, but it keeps those freeways out of my city) , OR I INSIST that all those heavy trucks drive down my residential street at three in the morning, waking me up and also causing the road to crumble. ANYTHING is better than those pesky freeways that most cities have, right?

This is bullshit. I see development where the railway station is, where the festival theatre is and down close to the banks of the lake. I mean Adelaide started as a beautiful thought out plan surrounded by park lands. If we build into that we lose what made the layout of our city great! We might as well just stick refineries and factories there to make us more like melbourne.

u kno i agree with u 100%. i seriously hate cars and the problems they cause. what im concerned about is adelaide. we're a city which is falling bechind the other australian capital cites. its plagued with traffic and congenstion which actually creates more emissions and environmental problems. long, high-speed roads which reduce stopping times etc is atleast better than peak-hour stop-start traffic.
