Navi creating and watching over a "Cave of Ordeals" sounds very fitting for her, too. Considering her experiences with Link. This great fairy is also very hands-on touchy with her affection, unlike all the others in the series. She would have good reason to be, too, considering who and what Link is. She also seems to be very heavily and personally invested in helping Link. And, well, if she is Navi then I could see why she'd both have an infinite supply of fairy _tears_ and why she'd want to bring him to her to give them to him. Her own, not those of just any fairy.

> Some ghost shows up claiming to be the Hero of Time. > Has no resemblance to the Hero of Time in any way, not even size, except that he's left-handed which means nothing. Fans: "Well, he _said_ he is, so it must be true! So did Hyrule Historia! Which also is full of contradictions and outright lies about what the Hero's Shade said his motivation is." Yeah...STOOPID!
@midgetydeath6 ай бұрын
I think the idea the Hero's Shade is the Link of Ocarina of Time is ridiculous. Though, I guess it fits the other evidence (like the sages, very much them) that Twilight Princess is not the same universe as Ocarina of Time (maybe Link ended up in an alternate world similar to what happened with Termina and settled down there? He could have fallen prey to how ghosts and such function there he was unfamiliar with). Or maybe he is _A_ Hero of Time, but not Link. Remember that Rauru said that drawing the sword proves one is worthy of the title. There's no reason to believe that _only_ Hylia's Chosen Hero can wield it (especially since we know one person without the Hero's Spirit, Wind Waker's Link, did so). Or he's simply a ghost who was drawn to the Hero's Spirit and was imprinted with part of its recent history/memories. Especially since the idea that regret over not passing down a few sword techniques holding Link back from passing on is ridiculous. And that is what the Hero's Shade specifically says happened. _NOT_ the extremely unreliable Hyrule Historia's claim about him regretting not being remembered as a hero (especially since not only the intro to Majora's Mask, but also the Hero's Shade himself contradicts it). This video goes into some pretty good reasoning about it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipenfZiGodyEoKs

05:15 What I can see is that the room is completely different from the one the Hero of Time used. Even the pedestal is radically changed and the stone the sword goes in is very different and not just in decoration. Even the size of that stone seems far larger. The Master Sword, especially the blade, also looks significantly different.
@midgetydeath6 ай бұрын
Aonuma said Twilight Princess takes place "a hundred and something years" after Ocarina of Time. Yet, the Temple of Time is drastically different, in ruins, overgrown, and fully engulfed by a forest that did not even exist at the time of Ocarina of Time. This is more evidence that TP takes place in an alternate world.

If Navi became a Great Fairy or something like that, what if...what if she's the one OoT Link had descendants with?
@midgetydeath6 ай бұрын
People forget that whether Link is a Kokiri or not (or first generation Kokiri given the Kokiri are apparently descended from Hylians) is irrelevant. Navi was assigned as his fairy. Just as every Kokiri's fairy was assigned to him or her. They aren't born that way, it isn't some natural part of being a Kokiri. The fairies take care of the Kokiri. I think the reason Link didn't have one as a kid was simply because he didn't _need_ a fairy to take care of him. The Kokiri themselves were taking care of him and raising him. They were, essentially, his "fairies". But, that wouldn't be true outside of the forest, and so the Great Deku Tree assigned him a fairy.
@midgetydeath6 ай бұрын
IIRC, the Kokiri originate from Hylians who decided to essentially unite with the wilderness of the forest. Given that Link isn't affected by the Lost Woods and can navigate it even without a fairy (given he was fine in there on his own and also eventually left to have descendants, unless TP is an alternate world he ended up in through the Lost Woods) and can live in Kokiri Village, which is _in the Lost Woods_ without transforming into a skullkid, it's safe to say that the Great Deku Tree did something much more than just allowing him to live there when he was an infant. Most likely, these factors can be explained as the Great Deku Tree doing for Link what he probably did for the ancestors of the Kokiri. Essentially making Link a first generation Kokiri.

OoT is a story about growing up and leaving childhood behind. When we are children we believe in stuffed toys and magic and need someone to hold our hand. That changes when we grow up. Navi leaving is symbolic of Link leaving childhood behind. It's like a kid packing away their toys. In Majora's Mask, a game about moving on and memory, Link is searching for her the way many people try to recapture their childhood before eventually moving on.

My theory is that they were born from the great deku tree as koroks and then because of their fairy, changed to look like the humans around them. Which I think is why they stay as koroks in breath of the wild, the wind waker, and tears of the kingdom because they don’t have fairies

I solely support this theory in which my personal headcanon looks like this: After Link defeats Ganon and returns back to his time with Navi, she departs into a window in front of them in which that it's a portal to the Sacred Realm. Hylia congratulated Navi for helping Link do his will to save Hyrule and promoted her to the rank of Great Fairy during the events of Twilight Princess where she would become the overseer of the Cave of Ordeals. Navi then would give her tears to Link's descendant, the Hero of Twilight which were the same tears she once cried during her departure from Hyrule which later became healing magic blessed by Hylia after Navi's promotion to the rank of Great Fairy. What do you think?

I really should get around to playing Majora’s Mask. I have the 3DS version, but just haven’t gotten around to playing it. I really like the darker themes that game had. Too bad the series doesn’t really have the same tone as it used to. Hopefully BOTW2 fixes this. I really wish that the Dekuscrubs appeared in more games. Maybe they were in some of the handheld games, but I haven’t played those. I really like the idea of plants that can move around and have their own society.

I saw that. It’s really funny how that game COMPLETELY messed up the timeline and how a good chunk of the Zelda community are twisting themselves into knots in a horribly botched attempt to say it doesn’t mess up the lore. A lot of the “lore community”/theory makers don’t truly understand the lore. A lot of them just go by the badly translated English versions, and if they look at more accurate fan translations they’ll refuse to learn the cultural/historical context that the lore is based on. UndyingNephalim has ranted a lot about this.
@shreksnow1918 Жыл бұрын
That’s really interesting how the mask came form a Redead. I really like when games add unsettling enemies into the mix. It makes things more interesting. Too bad we didn’t see them in BOTW. Hopefully the sequel fixes that (for me the biggest disappointments with BOTW are the fact that it’s lacking the enemy variety seen in the older games, the most interesting stuff happens in the past making you wish you were playing that game instead, and the fact that the Shrines/dungeons are super repetitive and lack character. Don’t get me wrong I really liked playing it. I just think the game could have been so much more). Good video. There’s this Zelda rts that’s a mod for 0ad (open source game so it’s 100% free) called Hyrule Conquest. Originally it started out as a mod for Medieval 2 called Hyrule Total War (haven’t played it since I don’t have Medieval 2) but the guy switched engines because the 0ad one can do all kinds of stuff that Medieval 2’s can’t. The guy making it is UndyingNephalim and he’s really cool, you should check him out (he changed his KZbin name to IceCreamMan for whatever weird reason. His Deviantart, Patreon, and Twitter all use the old name). The guy was able to take all these really obscure things from throughout the series to really flesh out the factions, and lore/story (until he rebooted that). You can play as the Goma, Kingdom of Hyrule, Lanayru, Zora’s Domain, Moblins, Stalphose, Lizalfos, and other stuff like that. It’s really impressive what the guy had made. When he started porting stuff over to 0ad the game played like Age of Empires since 0ad is based on Age of Empires, but at one point they started using a node system like in Battle for Middle Earth because it was easier to make the ai, the removal of workers gave it better performance, and streamlined certain elements. You should really check it out.

That’s definitely an interesting idea and would make sense. I also really like the idea of a cyclic apocalypse. I’m personally not a big fan of Adventures being a part of the Star Fox series because it really messes with the lore. My thoughts on sci-fi and fantasy meshing are if it’s not there from the very beginning or is a gradual change throughout the series then the two shouldn’t really mix. Star Wars and 40K are two great examples of the two being there form the beginning. Zelda is an example of something that started out as fantasy and gradually got more sci-fi elements as the series went on. Don’t get me wrong I love Adventures with it being my first game in the series (Assault being my favorite), liked the gameplay, and it gave us Krystal. I just think it doesn’t really mesh with the rest of the series. This is clearly because Rare originally intended the game to be Dinosaur Planet until Nintendo forced them to make it Star Fox completely messing up the narrative, and the Micrososft buyout caused the game to be rushed and not super fleshed out (it’s a miracle the game is functional and pretty cohesive. We couldn’t gotten something like Sonic 06🤣). Thankfully the N64 build of Dinosaur Planet leaked and the community have made an insane amount of progress with turning this broken mess that crashes all the time into something that approaches Rare’s intended magnum opus. Haven’t played it yet because I’m waiting till it becomes stable. Circling back to the topic of sci-fi and fantasy I’m well aware that the series is completely ridiculous with talking animals and James’s ghost appearing to guide Fox. I’m just saying thematically they don’t mesh. Speaking of Adventures there’s this really cool fan game you should checkout called Star Fox Remadventures. It’s being developed by this guy called Esphirian and you should really check out his channel. It’s a reimagining of Adventures that retcons a bunch of stuff to improve the story and make it fit in better. It’s also going to be darker. Andross is dead and the connection between him and Scales was a military alliance with his remnants playing a major role in the story. Krystal and Fox will both be on a journey together and you’ll see them bond over the course of the game. The Great Fox and it’s crew are now actively involved in the conflict. There will be a “special connection” between Krystal’s species who now just live on Sauria and the Krazoa. This is similar to how in Bungie’s Halo there was a connection between humans and Forerunners where if they fully completed 2 like in the storyboards (if you like Halo absolutely watch them. This guy animated them and it looks awesome. Also the games are now on Steam and regularly go on sale. Don’t pay for Infinite because it’s nowhere near complete and the multiplayer is free) where the Ark was originally meant to be located on earth where the Ark’s portal in Halo 3 was (which is located in East Africa where modern humans first originated from some 100,000 years ago. Also, human architecture was starting to look a lot like Forerunner architecture. I don’t think I could make this any more obvious unless I outright stated it). Also, Krystal’s adoptive father from Dinosaur Planet is now her biological father and Sabre will also be there having received the same treatment. In terms of gameplay it will be like BOTW where it’s open world and you can do things in any order you want. Unfortunately there’s no demos/playable builds because it’s nowhere near complete and he doesn’t want Nintendo to strike it. It will be awesome to see it. Krystal’s original voice actress is voicing Krystal in it. There’s also this really cool mod for Freespace Open (open source game so it’s 100% free) called Star Fox Event Horizon being made by UndyingNephalim (he changed his KZbin name to IceCreamMan for whatever bizarre reason. His Deviantart, Twitter, and Patreon all use the old name) and it’s a reimagining of the 64 continuity using characters/elements form all three timelines/reboots. Unfortunately the engine can’t handle jumping in and out of vehicles like you could in Assault so the Adventures and Assault arcs won’t feel right. Luckily he somehow got ground vehicles working in an engine built around space combat. He got Krystal’s voice actress to reprise her role. It’s a really cool game that you should check out. Luckily now there’s voice acting for certain characters. The guy doesn’t like on rails sections so unfortunately those won’t be present. I also don’t think the engine can handle vehicles transforming like in 2/Zero. If it had on rails sections (mixed in with free roaming), on foot sections with a more flesh out sandbox/levels, and vehicle transformations it would be the perfect game in terms of gameplay. I have some problems with the story like him killing off Fara and a few other things. But other than that it’s truly phenomenal. Check it out. Good video. I will check out your other stuff.

Good video, but I have some questions: wouldn't the Kokiri be able to safely leave the forest while the Deku tree was alive in the first place? Why does it change with the Deku sprout, who I assume is less powerful? And why didn't the Kokiri age during the seven years after the Deku tree's death? If Miyamoto's comments are true about generations appearing and disappearing abruptly how is Makar considered to be a descendant of Fado? Sorry about all the questions; it's a recent topic of interest to me lately. :P

I can see that being the case, especially when you have well-rounded characters like Groose from Skyward Sword, Midna from Twilight Princess, and Revali from Breath Of The Wild, who have their own personalities despite not being the focus of the game. Character development in this franchise is so complex you'd be forgiven for not noticing but also rewarded for taking a peak underneath the surface. At least, that's what I'm starting to notice about this franchise the more I look into it as a KZbin watcher rather than a gamer.

The hero of the fairies, a story we will never see
@nomicurrier19092 жыл бұрын
In skyward sword I don't rememebr any fairies at all. Maybe fi was in a way on of the first fairies. Along with ghirahim. They have the 3 divine dragons and levias. As pretty much the only of divine living things. At some point after the game there is the interloper war. The sacared realm is sealed off. And the 4 light beast are put into place by the goddesses returned. (Temporarily, they go away again) This is around this time that guardians deities, protectors of specific land regions start popping up. Unlike the dragons, they weren't created by the 3 golden Goddesses but instead seem to be made by hylia (or zelda the 1st?) With the help of the divine dragons. Who w don't see them again after skyward sword until botw where they seems to have become much more animals like. It makes me think that the divine dragons became -the animal-like climate-control dragons of botw. -While also becoming the guardian spirits. The fact that butterflies turn imto fairies by the touch of a deku stick and how the deku tree also has some control of the fairies makes it seem to me that the deku tree is older then the fairies. Great fairies seem to all have a title and special powes. Wisdoms Courage Power Kindess Magic Fire Ice Forest This is where malana come in. A great fairy that dossnt look like a hylian, dosent have wings and has powers over horses and riders. Meaning although not physically, she too is a specialist in a specific area of protections. Which makes them seem more like weaker guardian deities. Protectors of divine powers and concepts. Or holders of blessings There also seems to be one 1 queen fairy in the word. Great fairies can apear as large hylian women either with or without wings and antenna. also often appearing as a swarm of fairies of any number of fairies the most being 30 ish and as little as 2. (In majora you always looking for the 15 lost fairies. To join the other 15ish in a cave) And usually apear to be bound to there pond unless in a broken form Then there are atleast 2 types of false fairies (Like those bee colored flies. It helps them scar away predator,) False/force fairies are using the fairy look to there advantage foe safety or for resources. Scared/traveling fairies often apear like small winged balls of colored lights Small fairies are only a small amount brighter then fireflies Butterflies mayflies dragonflies and possibly even moths and fireflies. All seem to be "fairies" too. Or at least belong to their domain. All fairies can become the queen. Im guess the current queen was turned out of a swarm of many bugs and slowly raised to be divine. Probably by a younger deku tree. Butterflies can become fairies, any fairy could become a great fairy and a queen. So technically there are like Insect/ babies fairies. Newly turned. In botw and in windwaker the fairies seem to be more bug like. While in ocarina the small fairies are smarter. More alive. .................... I would like to point out the the light beast also can't leave there sacared pond/ springs. There power seems to bind them to divine areas. Much like the guardian dieities you can see where all three divine being were made to be much the same. Orginal gods 3 golden goddess Hylia The original divine creations The 3 divine dragons Levias 4 light beasts. Second generation divine creations The guardian deities The 3 dragons Gods The great fairies

I feel like the creepy queen from windwaker is Navi someone. "Your just my type" felt like a joke, a cute one. It's even said by Ganondorf himself that the hero of winds is the hero of time reborn. Not a person with a heros spirit but truely the hero reincarnated. Meaning this link of winds remind people very closely of link of time. Ganondorf. (The queen fairy ie Navi) the deku tree. But I also beleive that the tp great fairy is also Navi. Then again they are 2 different timeliness so both could be true. Twilight princess happens within like 100 years or so after ocarina of time so Navi being a great fairy seems fitting. A natural evolutions. Windwaker happens like Hella long after. A good 500 years or something so Navi becoming the child like queen of fairies is awfully fitting. In this time line she had to abandon the hero and friend while she powers up to the fairy spirit or great fairy. In windwaker she would jave seen the end of the world as she knows it. When she become a fairy queen she become an eternal child in honor of the kokiri that where her first
