That's a big lie from Pathisa Nyathi. This narrative about koBulawayo is just good as to say kuHarare. He's deliberately distorting facts to advance his selfish perspective. It is Mzilikazi who established Bulawayo not Lobengula.

I love the story about Mzilikazi and the Ndebele. I am from a rural village just 70km of Gaborone in South Africa. The village is called Molatedi. There are some of us who are said to be the decedent of a woman who was Mzikalizi's daughter who was among the people who got lost when the Matebele passed in that area. The best would be to get the story from someone as knowledgeable as ubaba Nyathi.

Very true in Africa our older people were our libraries. That's why the saying in Africa when an old man dies a library burns down.

the level of hatredand tribalism on the comment section is alarming. No-one controls population dynamics. even other cities like Gweru and Mutare suffered the same fate as Bulawayo. So People should stop this amaShona nonsense.

Sheesh I thought this "woke" alteration of RECORDED and Proven History???? was a only a European/western world -- later day (read 1990s) - 'Communist" inspired doctrine??? We suddenly have these " indigenous" woke trained so called "Professors" that profess?( excuse the pun) to be know via passed down word of mouth that WRITTEN RECORDED HISTORY?? is a COMPLETE AND UTTER LIE??? as far as their teachings??? ( which conveniently) put translation and "inferred" meaning above WRITTEN and PROVEN History!

I highly appreciate the works and efforts of Pathisa Nyathi. Great preservation of history of a nation. He is one passionate person who may be underrated and not fully appreciated. Such people as Pathisa Nyathi deserve funding from Ndebele community members and business persons to do further research and writing. And African Universities ought to give such people writing fellowships and residencies.

And then we just allowed amatshona to destroy this magnificent place. Bulawayo today is very dirty because of the influx of people from matshonaland and the destruction of the economy by matshona people. So sad.

Mzilikazi n Lobingula governed a very diverse nation ethnically I I believe their boulders went beyond present day Matebeleland , how will this "king" from Capetown rule the various ethnic/ tribal groups in Zimbabwe , the Ndebele dominance with in their own lands is not the same as early 19 century.......... Am sure he won't find Zim to be the same as SA , Zim is a different ball game all together

I think you are mixing the Hlubi history with Ntungwa history. The two have similar names but not necessarily the same. Same goes to Manala and Nzuza, they have different totems meaning they have different origin.
