I wonder why this video got less views than your other ones! Maybe, KZbin didn't push this video because you used the word 'Dies' in your thumbnail! Anyway, just came across your channel and it looks like some great content! Even though I am in the UK, this stuff is transferable 👍🏻

that could be the case, we might have to edit the thumbnail. But glad you got some great info from it!

Sounds like you’re really good at marketing. I heard you say in your video something that I basically hear throughout this space on KZbin. It is a legal distinction that gets said incorrectly quite often and I would just like to put my two cents in because I think it really confuses people. I have a juris doctorate, which means that I graduated from law school, and I actually have taken corporate law. When you say you switched your business structure from an LLC to an S Corp. that is a technical incorrect statement. Your business entity is not an S Corp. An S Corp. is a tax filing election. It merely means that although you are an LLC, which is your business entity, that you have elected to file taxes as a corporationyou and I both know the benefits of doing that so I understand why you say that why you did it but to say you switched from an LLC to an S Corp. is incorrect in my opinion. You are merely a corporation for the purposes of taxes.

I am trying to start my Landscaping business. I know that if you have a great offer, you will attract a heck of a lot of clients. I'm not sure what offer to give out to people though... For ex: $250 OFF if they spend $1500? Do you know any other offers I could give out to people.

If starting from scratch I’d recommend doing the first few projects for the cost of materials and doing a damn good job, getting testimonials & photos and then go from there

Looks like you compared a optioned out Exmark with a base model Walker. We have owned a number of brands and we chose the Walker brand as it is superior in terms of quality and design. Things you see as a con like too many grease fittings are instead a major Pro if you work on your own equipment, yes it’s inconvenient to reach and fill every one but when you need to take something apart you don’t have to reach for a heavy hammer as the first tool you need to get something apart to service it. Walkers can lay stripes against ANY other machine with a good driver. It sounds like you have a lot of commercial accounts and my experience with them is that they just want the grass cut in straight lines if possible, they are not out there walking on the grass when you’re done. We are cutting residential property and a lot of them are second or third homes for these people and they DO NOT want to walk across their freshly cut lawn and come back with Chia pet green fuzzy grass clippings on their shoes, so not bagging is not an option. As far as getting rid of the grass that is built into the price of every lawn, it costs $130 to dump a truck with a 14’ bed with grass only with no brush of any kind mixed in. You complain about the 5 gallon gas tank I don’t see that as a big hurdle to get over as the Kohler engine is efficient and reliable. As far as the back end of the Walker sticking out that IS something to get used to (it no different than learning to drive a pickup truck instead of a car) but it more than makes up for by the machine being only 49” wide with a 48” deck on it and not being close to 6 feet wide like the Exmark using their bagging system that goes around the outside of the machine instead of under it like the Walker. As far as handling the grass that gets bagged, WE DON’T TOUCH IT!! Our trailers have a ramp inside near the front (that we park one of the to Walkers on) when traveling and also another fold up ramp that is on a heavy hinge welded to the front of the trailer that folds down so we simply back onto the trailer, go up the inside ramp across the lowered ramp at the front that lays on a small lip welded on the back of the truck so it’s a smooth transition from the ramp to the back of the truck. We them use a toggle switch that activates the optional Walker power dump ( not the high lift dump) and we dump the grass into the bed of the truck, drive back off and go back to cutting, no 10 ton barrels of wet green grass to lift up and dump in the truck and no tarps to drag in either. We can out cut you any day of the week and have a cleaner better looking yard in the end.

You have a LOT of bad things to say about a machine you never owned but just drove around the dealer lot. You sound like someone that would be against owning a car over your horse and buggy you rode over in and list things like it uses gas while my horse only needs hay or it’s loud compared to the clip-pity clop of my horse and you you like having reins in your hand instead of a steering wheel that makes you feel all the bumps in the road. You went to the Walker dealership but it seems like it was with the idea of comparing all the things you like about what you’re using and comparing them with what Walker didn’t put on their base model machine. If you think you can be honest then ask yourself. Why did Xmark try to make their own copy of a Walker (got sued and lost) if it was so inferior and hard to use?

@LandscapeMarketingPros Жыл бұрын
That's a similar situation I was in as described in this vid. I personally wouldn't do a partnership like that ever again. Since you have equipment, spend as much time as possible learning the skills you'll need - marketing, basic financials/bookkeeping, client relations, etc. All that info can be found on KZbin and to save time there are a lot of courses out there that teach those subjects A-to-Z

I’m thinking about starting a new business similar to the one I’m in(floor covering). It would take a pretty large investment, around 40k to start up a demolition branch on my business. It’s extremely niche but serves a very valuable purpose. What do you do when there is little to almost no market research available? Almost feels like I’m going in blind.

I'm in the middle of this very exact situation. I put in ALL the money and purchased a huge customer list of 70 homes with equipment, etc and he came with just 7homes...Now we're just at war since he's allowing his personal life intervene, spending all his money, and we've lost several properties due to him not showing up. So I want him out...He NOT on EIN but only as VP on LLC. Mistake is we didnt do any legal agreement; just by mouth. So How do I get him out!? Can I just sell and be done?
