I got the 4 hole turtle pendant from song bird ocarina and i found pinching the side of the turtle's head with my index fingers and using my middle and ring fingers to cover the holes on its shell gave me a much better grip on the small pendant. I hope this helps someone else.

if you know how to play Clock Town Day 1 on a 4 hole, its pretty much the same. I don't own a 7 hole, but from the first few minutes of this i said "wait, its just a 4 hole :/" i have no clue if there are thumbholes, but I assume there are. Still a good tutorial!
