Re the feeding holes on the Nyos trap, there should be a white rubber stopper that you insert to block the bottom hole leaving just the top one open for food to be inserted into. Good review vid !

Sorry to hear about the male clown. Losses like that can be tough. I have a breeding pair that used to be in my 310 gallon with all the other fish. They would always lay eggs. I was able to see the eggs go full term but of course they would disappear due to getting ate. I isolated the clowns into their own 15 gallon tank. Question, when they lay eggs, do i need to remove the parents or are the baby nemos able to survive with parents in there?
@Dans.reef1
@Dans.reef1 Жыл бұрын
It was tough as I had no obvious signs of why he died. Mine used to lay on a slate tile every 8-10 days on day 7 I would remove the tile into a separate tank to raise them. The parents will eat them if not. Clowns are fantastic at protecting eggs but rubbish parents when it comes to raising the fry

What an Animal Cruelty ! Too many fish in this Small Tank. Think in the way that you have to live for the rest of your life in a 10 square meter room. Its so egoistic thinking to keep animals when you are not be able to create the right environment. Therefore a dislike.

Thanks for your comment. I have moved some of the fish on since this video. Some of the fish in the tank at the time of filming this video was from a tank closure of a friend who needed a quick place to rehome them. Do you also tell fish shop owners that they’re committing animal cruelty keeping fish in small tanks with no incline on when they will be moved on? Creating the right environment? My corals and fish are thriving, stable parameters and maturing nicely. But thank you for taking the time to vent your frustrations 😊

You sure can, depending on your budget the protein skimmer might not be necessary. I don’t run a protein skimmer on my tanks but they definitely help. Get each thing at a time and don’t rush it is the best advice I can give you. Trust the process. If you need anymore help let me know.

Protein skimmers if you have plenty of fishes. Do you have a chill cooler? Those are necessary depending on where you live. Since reef temp are around 77-82F.

@@knox7945 i live in miami florida where it actually is pretty hot but my home always maintains a temperature of 77 degrees when im not home. I only plan to put a total of maybe 5 or 6 fish max in this tank and i dont plan on having corals for atleast 6 months to a year when i feel the tank has matured enough from what ive learned. What im very worried about is the cycle and how to prevent the ugly phase as much as possible. I will be using an inch sand bed with live sand and 60 pounds of purple caribsea dry life rock.

@@Coral-reef.it depends what kind of corals you're using if you want to put them in right away. Zoas are pretty good starters or neon green star polyps, but they spread like wildfire if let unchecked. I put Zoas in mine 2 and a half month prior to the maturity of my tank and it's is going through ghe ugly phase at the moment with llts of hair algae. I've heard that its ok corals in initially before the fishes.
