I cannot tell you how jealous I am of everyone who got to travel to watch the Olympics. One of my friends got to go and she actually saw my favorite athlete (Hailey Van Lith- Team USA’s Women’s 3x3 basketball team) play, and she said that although Hailey’s team got the bronze….they put up a good fight. The opening ceremony was absolute magical, and action packed (felt like I was watching a James Bond action movie, mixed in with history) and the artist who was singing John Lennon’s Imagine…..that had me tearing up. I wish they could run it all back again, and then just keep it going. It feels so weird now seeing videos of Paris without the Olympics set up, because I actually got used to it and I think its made Paris even more popular.

Thanks for watching the Paris 2024 Games!! 🎉 I am french and I live in Paris suburbs 15 mins away by tram from the swimming site. There were olympians and teams everywhere on the streets and everyone looked so happy! It was a joy having the Games at home. I got to go twice with tickets. Once during water-polo olympics --> women, the US vs. The Netherlands for bronze, the US lost by 1 point at the very last second. And once during swimming paralympics finals. I was working during the week so I went on weekends. My colleagues all left Paris during the Olympics thinking it would be a nightmare and they all have regrets now. The atmosphere was crazy and we cheered for everyone (but the cheers were so much louder for french athletes and para-athletes ❤🎉). I also saw olympic cyclists by the Seine and para-marathonians on the Champs-Elysées without tickets. I also saw the flame, and yesterday was the last celebration with the parade of the french champions on the Champs-Elysées (I was fortunate to grab a ticket as everyone wanted to go). We got to see the masked hooded flame bearer one last time and the crowd went crazy (myself included lol). It was like a dream. I still can't believe I was lucky enough to experience all this. The logistical nightmare it was before it started (I work near the Champs-Elysees and it was chaos before the Games began) was all forgotten when we all cheered for every athlete and para-athlete! I can't wait to see the LA 2028 Games! (I will probably watch from my phone this time, and obviously with time difference 😢)
