The first Vernier calliper question you solved i did mine this way 1.75plus 0.04 Becautge vernier calliper didn't immediately at 7 but was between 7 and 8 Thats not how it should be done ?
@physics.for.everybody
@physics.for.everybody Ай бұрын
In question number 1, the smallest division on the main scale of that vernier caliper is 0.1 cm, so you can't do it like that. You can only do that if the smallest division on the main scale is 0.05. Consider the second question on the micrometer screw gauge.

Sir why are added o.47 to 9.5 (9.5+0.47) why are you not written directly as 9.547 as yo writing directly in earlier questions?
@Mo-bs3ds
@Mo-bs3ds 3 ай бұрын
The ones that he wrote directly,e.g the 14.21 own He went directly cos 14 is a whole number But if he's to write it mathematically this is what it will look like 14.0+0.21=14.21 That is to tell you that the 21 on the Vernier scale has a decimal point in front,he assumed we all know that and just added directly
@Mo-bs3ds
@Mo-bs3ds 3 ай бұрын
So take a look at the one that confused you Mathematically we will have 9.5+0.47 I believe you know how to add decimals That's how he derived 9.97 This applies for Micro meter screw guage

Sir, you have explained question number 27 using resistivity formula which is in the A-Level syllabus, not the 0625 syllabus. I am wondering how can we solve the question using the information in our 0625 syllabus specification.
@physics.for.everybody
@physics.for.everybody 4 ай бұрын
As a physics teacher, the best way to explain this concept is by giving your students the formula and teaching them how to use it. That will enable them to solve any question they encounter. I stick to the syllabus while teaching, but I do not limit the imaginative power of my students to the syllabus. I did the same while teaching centripetal force and I even went beyond the syllabus and taught them about centrifugal force, a very important concept while analyzing the the principle of operation of a washing machine. By the way, on page 65 of the scheme of work, section 4.3.2.10 suggested that we should introduce the students to the equation for calculating the resistance of a wire and practice with them. Thank you. Are you a physics teacher?
