At 10:18 I think the right larger is wrong since base[j] will be need to be multiplied by both 2^power[i] and 2^power[j]. Could you please explain your reasoning if my reasoning is wrong?

You’re right. Actually, 2^power[j] will always multiply by base[j] because it cannot multiply by base[i]. The main question is to determine which base 2^power[i] should be multiplied by.
