I love it when the British set films on the continent, in English language and accents. For some reason this just feels very French. The actors nail being French while speaking in English accents, that takes some doing. The cadence, the intonation, the movement, the fashions - are just pitch perfect French, but without being French. When these adaptations work they produce a delicious frisson of cultures, demonstrating cross cultural observations. Far better than using silly French accents.

The world watched Nastase. We made it to the skirt.

The craziest tennis match of all the times. Nowadays, Nastase would be out at once. But this play was a sketch. Both players was agree to make this match a great fake! The 2 players gone to eat together after the match. Nastase knowned Mac was upon him. So, he decided to rotten the match just to reach limits of the rules! Legendary!

Great to see this, finally. I live in Nice, and have walked past that branch of SocGen many times.

It's so strange for McEnroe to be the well-behaved one, but the crowd behaved much, much worse than Nastase. As it was, the powers-that-be kicked Hammond in the testicles and hung him out to dry. Even McEnroe said it was wrong, and he's not known for his love of umpires.

Even 40 years later that tennis is still awesome. It could easily stand up amongst the best today.
