Dab syringes are a pain to fill a cart with (even with the blunt tip needle, wouldn't even try without one) just because of how insanely thick distillate is. This isn't for my use case since I'm talking about filling your own carts with dab syringes from the dispensary. I just use something to hold the vape cart so it can't fall over, a blunt tip needle, and a hair dryer. Put the hair dryer on the hottest setting and close to the syringe for a couple of seconds and quickly push as hard as I can on the plunger. It really is shocking how thick the stuff is. But end up with a 1g cart for $20 total (which is a very good price for here in Arkansas).

what purpose of installing filter on that? i believe its still dont help from vacuum pump oil contamination.
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii 2 ай бұрын
@eidodoos great question! The filter is placed onto the pump's exhaust. Vacuum pumps have a tendency to release an oil vapor. This vapor can stick to things in the surrounding room, causing contamination. The filter removes the unwanted oil vapor from the air. Without the vapor present, there is no worry of contamination.

why would anyone want to freeze dry their weed?
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii 2 ай бұрын
Cannabinoid Preservation: So your weed stays potent and effective. Picture this: a pristine lab where cannabis is freeze-dried with surgical precision. No contaminants, no funky stuff. As testing standards get stricter, we need clean processes. Freeze drying minimizes contamination risks. It’s like the cannabis equivalent of a sterile surgical suite. Mold and Mildew Be Gone: Hang-drying cannabis flowers in the traditional way can sometimes lead to mold or mildew growth. But freeze drying? It’s like a superhero cape against those villains. No more damp corners or unwanted surprises. The Aromas: Freeze drying keeps the aromas intact. You’ll open that jar of freeze-dried bud, and-voilà!-it smells like a freshly plucked garden. No more faded scents or lost magic. Potency Boost: Traditional drying and curing methods are like the slow-cooked stews of the cannabis world. Tasty, but not as potent. Freeze-dried cannabis, on the other hand, flexes its muscles. It’s like the espresso shot version-strong, vibrant, and ready to party. The Bottom Line: Freeze-dried cannabis is like a time capsule for your stash. It preserves potency, quality, and overall goodness. So whether you’re a producer or a connoisseur, freeze drying is your secret weapon.

Personally, I wouldn't freeze dry bud unless I planned on turning it into hash. Even then I'd be hesitant because I suspect excessive drying could lead to lower quality runs of bubble. That being said, I'm watching this because freeze drying hash actually makes sense. I don't really see the point of freeze drying flower outside a commercial setting. I'd argue there's better ways to dry/cure/preserve flower but I'm assuming freeze drying is more cost effective so it is what it is. In their reply they're basically saying it's harder to mess up freeze drying than traditional drying/curing. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that would prefer to freeze dry their own stuff rather than risk messing up the drying/curing process, even if the end result is inferior.

So many people post process with the extractor when they should be doing this. We calculated over 50% loss of THCA when doing this by extracting cold instead of post processing color out.
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii 2 ай бұрын
@davidmcghee7696 there is potential loss while performing any refined extraction. In your case you may have had the solvent in contact with the material for far too long. THCA can precipitate out of the solvent! Running multiple post filter setups to clean ethanol extraction could destroy all your terpenes. Ethanol vs hydrocarbon extractions are both widely used and both have their benefits per desired end result.

Can anyone help describe how to release the vacuum? Without all the particles collecting back onto the material? Just run the vacuum for a few seconds before releasing the vacuum? Seems like all gases would be in the air and condense onto surfaces without another method! Help!!
@Jmarosii

@@Jmarosii thanks! I do have that though. I know my question is reallly elementary sounding, haha so thanks for hanging tight with me…. As a loyal BVV customer haha If you see my recent upload, the vacuum is reached and with nearly zero temperature change, begins to boil off/evaporate.. what happens to that butane or moisture etc that is degassed? It stays in the “air” in the vacuum correct? So releasing that valve just brings all the suspended gas down to atmospheric pressure and temp and where did it go? Not out.. I am especially curious now, after my last run… I think I let it inside the vac too long bc it smells and tastes like dry crap…. Thanks for your help!!! Does anyone know if the cannabinoids are destroyed in this method or the purity of the substance is preserved?
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii 2 ай бұрын
@mortezaebrahimi737 when ethanol gets a little too hot and bothered, it can cause some cannabinoid decarboxylation. But fear not! Cold ethanol extraction is the hero here. An observed increase in acidic cannabinoid concentrations indicates that cold ethanol extraction doesn’t play the villain by decarboxylating our precious cannabinoids1. So, keep it cool, my friend!
