I own the old red bird mine not to far from there, I have walked through that mine numerous times. There is some drifts with bad air but other than that it's not dangerous.

Bet y'all didn't know the jack in the box in grass valley is haunted by a lil girl that drowned in the old lake that used to be where the jack is now. I used to work there , did graveyard shift. I'd always see shadow figures and see things move on their own.

Trail is clearly marked, just need good boots. Easy to get spoiled by really good trails, but with your daughter, best to keep it fun!
